The same freedoms the speakers in the video are talking about are not extended to jw's themselves.
I don't believe the speakers in the video truly have an understanding of the milieu of jw-ism.
I do think their extreme shunning policies are something a govt may want to watch. The destruction of families can have an effect on public policies and resources.
That being said, as much as I dislike the jw's they should be allowed to believe whatever nutty thing they got going today as it will change down the road later anyway. They are not terrorists and not likely to become so.

they make a public spectacle of refusing the new covenant.. christians believe that salvation is monergistic - that god works through the holy spirit to bring about the salvation of an individual through spiritual regeneration, regardless of the individual's cooperation.

Simply talking about Jesus does not make one a Christian. Even Muslims believe Jesus was a real person and a prophet of God but not the Messiah, doesn't make them Christian does it?
I don't know anyone who goes to a mainstream church of any variety that thinks jw's are Christian once they have the slightest understanding of what jw's do believe. Naturally you won't get their beliefs from them personally you must look up what their beliefs are today because they may change tomorrow depending on the boys in NY.

Good post, jw's often think they are Christian and the above tells the Protestant view of why they are not Christian in the view of many.
Not sure if all jw's feel this way but my jw has said the he is not an 'intentional sinner'. I was brought up (Protestant) with the view that we all are sinners and all fall short. If they are capable of 'saving' themselves through their works, obedience to the org and their own death they don't really need Jesus at all do they?

What police have to deal with
by LoveUniHateExams inso, the actions of cops have come under scrutiny in recent days, what with the trial of derek chauvin and the death of daunte wright.
i certainly hope justice is served in both those cases.. what is easy for people to forget, is just what police officers have to deal with on a regular basis, during their interactions with citizens.. here's a video breaking down one such interaction.. a car owner was driving his car but the tags weren't legally displayed.
cops wanted him to pull over but the driver continued driving for a mile and a half with a police car following with sirens and lights.

by minimus inif you go to a restaurant, do you tip and typically how much?
if you were given a 90 minute time frame to eat at a restaurant, would that restriction limit your tipping to the waitress or waiter?.
also if you order a coffee and donut and pick it up, do you contribute to the “tip jar” that’s on the counter?

Oh joey! you don't go to the same places do you? aren't you afraid to eat the food then? Wait staff do remember people who frequent the place and do not tip. I do not condone anyone ever doing anything to food (if it is not a criminal offense it should be and should be prison time not huber) but I have heard of people who do to get back at bad customers. Not so much years ago but I see it in the news every now and again.
Also joey, go to a truly fine upscale steak house and then a local pub, the quality of wait staff is quite different. Some fine dining places wait staff won't even get to wait on a table until they have been there for months in training. Wait staff in some upscale NY restaurants have been at the same place for 20-40 years and can make upwards to 80-100 thousand a year. Yes, it would be quite rare but the quality of service is also quite different than you local corner tap or pub & grub.
The best customers were generally a bunch of guys on an outing like golf or bowling and the beer was flowing. They were jovial and tipped very well. Older women were generally the worst, insisted on separate bills even though there was standing room only and then they argued about pennies and nickels. A certain racial group did not seem to understand or care about tipping either and were highly demanding. Nobody liked waiting on them, not being racist it was just a fact. Got so bad the wait staff had to take turns because we all knew we would be running our butt off for them and they actually cost is money in the long run due to having to declare the 10% tip on their bill which they never left. Sometimes we drew straws to see who had to wait on them or at times the manager had to step in and decide who would be the unlucky wait staff to get them.
If you don't have enough money to tip at a sit down restaurant then you don't have enough money to eat out, go through the drive through or eat at home. Just my 20%.
