Having elders, ms, etc... tell a newbie jw to lie to his wife because she opposes the mind numbing cult. Continuing that line of thought for years, it is ok to lie to those who don't deserve the truth (see the Aid book under 'lying'.)

Confidential Letter from the Watchtower to all full time servants.
by pistolpete inthis is a confidential letter for all full time servants like cos, regular pioneers, bethel and branch workers so please don't tell anyone about this.. reminder 20,000 jws have died of covid and 99% of those who died or were hospitalized in the united states branch territory were not vaccinated, so whose fault is that???.
my question, how did they get the information that all these 20,000 jws were not vaccinated?.
hint; if you want to continue to share in spiritual privileges--------------------get vaccinated.

I just do not understand how they can even take the vax considering their stance on blood. With blood nobody died giving it, it is completely voluntary. The vax does contain or used aborted fetus cells in production, how do they reconcile this in their own minds?
I am not trying to debate the aborted fetus cells nor how many actual babies were used, rather just the jw view of this. Nor am I debating taking the vax or not, simply and only how a jw can justify it in their own heads.
(see Dr. Plotkin ( Dr. Plotkin is considered the Godfather of Vaccines. )discuss using 74 (he corrects attorney from 72 to 74) aborted babies, he even chuckles about if babies tongues were used or not, see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vIcrFOT8pc&t=3s only posting this for those who say only 2 aborted babies cells from the 70's were used, it is not true according to Dr. Plotkin. You can see his credentials here https://forti-fy.com/how-will-this-information-change-you/?sfw=pass1625142815)

I was thinking about this topic the other day and was remembering the long and in depth posts by many erudite posters. I am sure you and remember many of those posts, I will not name them because I'm sure I would leave some important person out. Over the recent years many older ex jw's have said how the org has changed and they seem to write to a 4th- 6th grade level. I wonder if some of the newer ones leaving may not have the same grasp of doctrine in general as some of the older folks?
If that is the case, then naturally the newbies would not have the same conversations that the older posters remember (some of who went on to become theological professors, or actual real ministers with college educations, etc..) If you asked a current jw to discuss how 1914 was arrived at, flip flops on generation, changes in baptism questions, flip flops on rape, flip flops on organ donations, and on and on, a current/younger jw probably has no idea of these things. They might even accuse you of lying (which my jw did).
When my jw first joined up later in life I threw the book at him (my mistake and I do not recommend it) on flip flops including the picture of jw's celebrating Christmas. He denied, denied, denied until he finally had to admit it was true because some elder told him so.
I think some newbies may not care as much about actual doctrines but are more concerned with how leaving will affect their personal life and family relationships. Can't blame them for that, we have all seen those stories and most of you have lived it. Maybe it is better they are not quite as indoctrinated as the older folks? (Biblically/doctrinally speaking) or at some sort of different level? I dunno.

I am grateful to Simon as well.
What I see as a never been jw, never will be, ubm, is that is seems to come in cycles and what is going on in the world at large. There is a lot going in the world right now but if something were to be earth shaking in the jw world that would take precedence on this site in a an instant.
Oddly, I find my jw the most political person I know. He detests that I even vocalize it as such and gets quite annoyed with me if I do. Doesn't make it a false statement however.
For those who dislike political discourse why do you click on those topics? There are many topics I read but do not comment on because I am not qualified (never been jw) or do not know the issue well enough. Some may say I comment anyway, lol. I try not to.
If you want more jw topics, how many thread have you started to keep that in the 'latest' queue? I know a little red guy who is pretty good with starting topics, whether you agree with him or not is besides the point, he does a good job asking questions and keeping himself relevant and on our minds for a moment.
What I do know is that there is a wealth of information here and people who are willing to answer over and over the same questions regarding jw -ism. For that I am eternally grateful. If we take a pause to take note of what is going on globally, why not? where else can we hear from so many places around the globe? I know that I can ask someone in the UK, down under, Germany, Finland (not sure if they are still around), Ireland, Japan, Mexico, etc.... It's ok to look at something else even if it is not jw related for a short bit. Some poor soul will end up here saying, "is it better to df or slow fade" (if they even know those terms) and I know all the kind hearted souls here will do what they can to help them through a horrible ordeal.
A small break now and again from jw-ism will not hurt this site in my opinion.
My thanks to all who answer the asked and answered questions again and again.
I just hope we can all be cordial and welcoming to the newby who is scared and stands to lose so much.

Logical Fallacy… can I get some help here?
by DATA-DOG indr. leanna wen is currently spreading the fallacy that unvaccinated persons should have vaccines mandated because they are like drunk drivers… they have the right to be drunk at home she says, but wanting to be part of society at large without being vaccinated is like driving drunk and putting others at risk.
besides ignoring the science proving that persons who have had sars cov-2 have natural immunity that equals or exceeds anything that could be imparted from the mrna shot, without the side effects or need for boosters, ( sorry big pharma, you’ll be losing $$$ ) this illustration just smacks of illogical reasoning.
it reminds me of the borg comparing getting baptized to getting your driver’s license.

Me.- you said, "FYI- My wife is an ICU nurse at the Calgary Foothills Hospital. Its very real and scary as hell." https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4844506674364416/covid-found- you also said, "You know those are probably not real doctors. The interweb is full of liars and nutjobs."- which is it? we should believe you? which you should we believe? why should we believe anything you say because as you say, "The 'interweb' is full of liars...." I haven't hear the word 'interweb' since my elderly father passed away many years ago, perhaps you are an Alzheimer's patient living in your daughters basement posting about jw's because they once came to your door and also about vaccines because you just had yours? who knows? as you say, "The interweb is full of liars and nutjobs."

I suggest people read the comments from the health care workers (nurses, dr's, etc..) before commenting.
