"My book of bible stories" is child abuse!!
by Witness 007 ini once gave this book to a woman with kids at the door...to my shock my next visit she gave it back saying it was discusting and full of violence and sex!
this book was clearly written by some bethel loser with no kids.
i don't understand why witnesses don't have a separate kids school..

As a non jw who went to Sunday school I can assure you that mainstream churches do NOT have children reading about masturbation, death and violence. Our Bible stories were simple and age appropriate. If you are of a certain age perhaps you remember Golden Books? they were simple cute books for children, they put out a number of children's bible stories. We also often did singing and a craft or coloring in Sunday school. In mainstream churches they do not discuss sex, masturbation, oral, anal and whatever else the perverts like to discuss with children and in mixed company (once upon a time such topics were not discussed in front of men & women together).
I can't even imagine sitting in church with my Dad or Grandparents when such topics would be brought up! It is just one of the many reasons I never allowed my kids anywhere near a kh. Told my jw that if anyone ever tried to have a discussion like what jw's do in their 'service' I would beat the shit out of the speaker.
Before I get roasted for that, when discussing the above topic with other non jw's they all agree they would do the same. I don't know, are jw's just a bunch of perverts or what?

Jehovah's Witnesses and Tattoos
by NotFormer ini was wondering about the jw attitude towards getting tattoos.. redditors suggest that the only jws who have them would have got them before they were baptised.. jw.org gives a meally-mouthed "true christians wouldn't" response.. but no-one (that i've seen so far) answers the question i'm actually asking: is getting a tattoo after being baptised a disfellowshipping offence?.
if not disfellowshipable, how would a typical jw congregation treat someone who got a tattoo after baptism?
would they really treat it like it is a conscience issue?.

"Oh I've never been called riff raff before " - better than in the U.S., tatts on women used to be called tramp stamps.

"Carla, did you accidentally leave out a noun after "My jw" - No I didn't. He is capable of being my husband like his old authentic self at times and then he is my dear husband, when he acts like a cult member and is in full on jw mode he is 'my jw' because it is not himself. His old non jw self would never behave or believe in half the crap the borg spouts. It is treated like a mental illness now with family members, that is how most people see his 'dubbyness' when he gets like that. Act like a judgmental ass and people might think you are few short in the crayon box. Yes, we will roll our eyes behind your back. He is still both my husband and my jw, I prefer my husband.
Sadly the kids have both a dad and jw who is just trying to get his time card filled up.
He at times has almost a split personality that depends entirely on who he is with or if he is just off of certain meetings. Then I have to wait for the dubbyness to wear off.
You may find my use of 'my jw' disrespectful, you are not the first to point it out. If you were ever a jw and did not respect the sanctity of other peoples marriage and asked a spouse to lie to their 'opposing' spouse then you don't have much to say, it would be completely disrespectful to the other spouse and would make you a hypocrite. Unfortunately jw's teach people to lie and sneak around to further their purposes.
On the other hand if you are currently visiting each and every person (or other anti jw activity) you ever tried to indoctrinate or to get your time in and tell them the truth about this disgusting cult then I would commend you and you finding the use 'my jw ' disrespectful would hold more weight.

From personal experience I can tell you that a jw will be told to get them removed or no holding the holy microphone, holy toilet brush or any other such special privileges. My jw had tatt's before joining this insidious cult and had to get them removed $!$.
"...conscience issue"- come on now, we all know what a 'conscious issue' is in dubland! Simply it goes like this- a 'real' christian wouldn't do x, y or z but you can of course. If you do, we will all treat you like shit for the rest of your life but go ahead. You will be a leper in our midst.

a pet peeve of mine
by enoughisenough inputting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.
it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.
there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.

Dear Enough..,
I was just explaining this very thing to a non jw the other day (I too am a non jw, a ubm) as I was saying to the non jw how the elders are not qualified to speak to people about mental health issues, marriage counseling, etc.... I did mention that many jw's are in fact 'window washers'. I explained that it was not meant as a cut to window washers or general laborers' only to point out that they do not have the education needed for such things like mental health, suicide, cutting, depression, post partum, eating disorders, etc........ I also work with my hands often as did my father and most of my family.
Why many jw's are in fact real window washers (or other small business) is often because it fits their jw schedule. It leaves time for pioneering, carts, etc... also fits my jw's lifestyle though he hides his activities from his ubm wife per jw elders & gb doctrines. I, a non jw, am not worthy of 'truth'. (see Aid book) . The non jw could not understand the secrecy of my jw and the life of being married to a jw.
