Just MAYBE she went back to the Elders and said, '' this young gorgeous hunk gave me his phone number and asked me to call him tonight, with the answers to these questions''. BUT the Elders reminded her that WORLDLY men are only after one thing - and it ISN'T the Watchtower.

Elderly JW refused to open her Bible...
by AuldSoul inokay, some of you might have read about my conversation with the elderly lady that was doing street witnessing in conyers, ga. this experience happened this morning ... just looked at the clock, yesterday morning .
i walked out of the local tag office (where we register our vehicles and acquire license plates for the cars) and there sat an elderly lady with current magazines.
being in somewhat of a hurry, i tried to walk a more direct path to my vehicle ... but she thought i was avioding her.

Gosh, no. Well, she may have lied about putting the money in the Contribution Box, as she lied about calling you.
What were the 4 questions?

by vitty in......................mine has got to be the weekly grocery shop....................oh how i dread and hate it.
i used to think it was the ironing but id rather do a ton of ironing if i didnt have to shop.. its so boring, same food week in week out.................loading it onto the conveyer belt, packing it putting it in the car.........taking it out of the car...........putting it into cupboards then saying " what shall i cook for dinner?
" but by then i just can face the food.. so whats yours?, mowing the lawn and cleaning the car are included .

What would you say?
by bagpuss ini spent time in a cong where the school overseer had a real thing for pronouncing words just like on the wt cds.
this meant that we were always been counselled for incorrect pronunciation, especially when it came to the word philistine.he insisted that the 'ine' at the end should be pronounced as 'een' and that the emphasis should be on the second syllable ' lis' .
i would cringe listening to students using the ' correct pronunciation' when privately they all thought it was wrong to have his view imposed on us.. what about you.

INE - but surely pronouncition is often down to Regional/Universal accents. You know - you say tomayto, and I pronounce it correctly (Midwich ducks).

Well Zico, 2007 already, time flies - was it Dudley by any chance?
That Malawi/Mexico thing - did the Society get letters about it? (as they did the UN issue) I'm not too familiar with it, but from what I am aware, I'm somewhat disgusted.

The Curse of the Living Death
by Gill inchrist said, when faced with the woman about to be stoned over alleged adultery, 'let he who is without sin, throw the first stone!'.
of course there wasn't anyone with out sin and the woman left with her life.. shunning is 'the living death' for jws.. therefore, if they catch a woman, or a woman/man confesses to adultery, why do they then shun them and give them the 'living death'.. my mother was telling me about a young woman who had committed adultery in her cong.
and had just married the man she'd had the affair with.

Come oooooon - given the choice I reckon dubs would prefer stoning those they condemn.
I can just see Jesus in same scenario at KH, '''Let he who is without sin, cast.........'' (Jesus words muffled by thunderous chucking of stones)
