More than 200 Jehovah's Witnesses descended on Derby this morning to build a new £300,000 place of worship in just four days.
The trained volunteers travelled from as far away as Southampton to lend a hand for building the meeting hall in Leytonstone Drive, Mackworth.
A team of workers was on site from 6am, building the internal walls to the hall while another team constructed the roof.
A crane was due to arrive in the early afternoon to lift on the roof before the bricklayers build outside walls.
Members of the Mackworth and Mickleover congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses have estimated that the volunteers saved them about £500,000 in building costs.
Peter Follis, secretary of the Mackworth congregation, said: "This is the third such project we have completed in the county in the past year after we built two other halls in Matlock and Ashbourne."
