Why do JWs fear Satan and demons so much?
Because they are told to.
for a group that claims not to believe in hell, why do jws fear satan and demons so much?
a quick search on my 2003 wt cd reveals over 14,000 references just to satan's name..what is the worst thing satan could do to a jw?

quite recently, watchtower in sweden applied for governmental financial support, as they are entitled to as a registered religious community.
however, the government declined to accept the application, stating that the reason was that the jws do not adhere to democratic values and standards and do not support mainstream values.. the witnesses are upset, because they feel discriminated against.
they state that the financial issue is not the real issue, but to be treated in a similar way as other religious communities.. they have appealed the decision and plan to send a report explaining the witnesses views in more detail.. the branch office chose the religious, pentecostal (assembly of god) newspaper "dagen" to make an interview.. here is the photo report of the article.. .
designs - yes! And you know what also really grates with me...? JWs here do not buy (and wear) a poppy (Remembrance), as the donation benefits 'old soldiers' (WWII veterans etc), and that is somehow 'condoning' war (I've never understood that myself), yet they don't mind claiming money they're not entitled to as a result of war (Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation). The things they condemn and refuse to donate to are the first things they're in line to benefit from (war, tobacco, blood, charities eg Red Cross etc)

Why is the WT applying for financial support from a government which it condemns? I'm sure I've read that JWs do not ask for assistance as 'Jehovah provides'..?...and why do they need the assiatance?
remember some of the garbage served at the district conventions?.
i was at the dollar store today and noticed they started carrying "shasta" cola.. i started laughing because they used to serve that skunk water at the district conventions when i was a kid.. they always brought in the cheapest, nastiest soda they could buy.. one year we had something called vess cola - that was actually worse than the shasta!
then, they ran out on sunday and had to buy pepsi from the local distributor - we were all rejoicing!!.
Ages ago at Twickenham (or 'Twickers' to the initiated) my super spiritual mum and dad decided it would be a good idea if we volunteered for food preparation
Me too South African Beef...same place (Twickers)...and I knew nothing of food preparation (I was a young teen), Health and Safety would have had a field day!
i got babtized at the age of 23. i was not a so called born in guy.
i started studying the bible at 20, and before that i never heard of the jw-religion.
so everything was pretty new for me.. to make a long story short: a month or so after baptizm, i felt probably lonley one evenig and got drunk right out of my brains.
There was a pub opposite the KH so a few used to go across after the meeting for a couple of pints. So JW's and boozing went hand in hand for us!!
I remember a few brothers who used to have a few pints between the Sunday meeting then going out in Field Service. And I know of one who 'needed' a bottle of wine after the group study, lol.

121-132 "let marriage be honorable" ***.
Thanks for posting Luke. I think the WT recognises that JW marriages (generalising here) are 'fake', ie, a lot of JWs marry fellow members under pressure (as pointed out in another thread, eg sex), and so is trying to 'normalise' unhappy/struggling marriages.
this is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.
Very sad news Mary - thinking of you and yours. Much love, Midwich
where can i find that document?
also, i have a medical question on bone-marrow i would need assistance with answering.
thanks, fourwheelerguy.
Did they ever receive any 'compensation' from the Swiss Bank Settlement Fund..? (or have I missed the outcome..). I can't believe any organisation would stoop so low to get a share of money intended for victims' families. How many human lives (strangers) did they claim for?
hi all,.
i've heard several reference to the "generation change.
" some of you have said they've revised this several times, including in 1995. onthewayout, i've heard you mention it a couple of times.. can anyone explain to me what this is, or where to find more information on it?.
It's very odd that God instructed the WT (falsely) about 1914, and instructed others differently.
many are not sure or deny that wts is a dangerous mind-control cult.
here is some food for thought on the "dangerous mind-control" part of that.
