Good Afternoon Steve - Worcestershire is warm today (by English standards) - I've just got back from Stratford-Upon-Avon, also warm and pleasant.

littlerockguy - ''Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf'' - the Taylor/Burton film - I enjoyed that! (Did you ever see Richard Burton in ''Equus''? - worth seeing if you haven't). I suspect you like the old black and white films, littlerockguy (so do ) - I assume you've seen, ''Whatever Happened To Baby Jane'' - Classic - loved that. Bette Davis was superb. Oh and delores Claiborne was a good film too.
Unbeliever - I quite liked Kill Bill 1 (but don't know why!) - but I thought the 2nd was awful.

As a youngster I was told that after Armageddon the JW (survivors) would be able to have their pick of the properties that belonged to the recently dead

1 Corinthians 14:34-35..."...let the women keep silent in the congregations, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but let them be in subjection, even as the Law says....it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in a congregation."
errrrr - surely they shouldn't 'answer up' at the Watctower study then?

Simese Jehovahs Witness Turns Apostate
by gumby inok, lets say you were born attached at the shoulder of your twin.
your mom raises yer sorry arse as a dub and you both grow up knockin on doors together..........then you turn into an apostate heathen bastard.
how does the witness one go to the meetings and out in service....and how do you the poor apostate bastard go to apostafests and stuff?

I also used to wonder if you called a male witness with a sex change before becoming a witness, "brother"....or "sister"?
I actually pondered this the other day (am I sad or what?). If a woman has had the op and later becomes a ''brother'', would he be allowed to progress as a male in the Org (get PRIVELEDGES). I'd suspect not. BUT if a man had previously trans-gendered, by the same token she ought to be able to progress as a brother.
I need to get out more.

Had study with witness today
by jaffacake intoday was probably about our seventh meeting.
he never got a quarter way through his agenda because of my questions & digressions.
i kept an open mind on doctrines.

To be honest jaffacake, I really think they themselves are confused now - it can't be easy keep changing your beliefs.
It also must be especially difficult for the older JWs who find some things hard to learn/grasp in the first place, only to be later told to ''unlearn'' it.

Daniel's Prophecy, 605 BCE or 624 BCE?
by Little Bo Peep inhello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.
i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.
i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

Had a quick look at the timeline site-
http://www.jwtruth.com/timeline.asp
and around 1978, the Watchtower began a ''campaign of innuendo against Carl Olaf Jonsson'' - is this reflected in the Society's literature of that time, as I can't find it.
