i posted recently asking for support (which i got tons of - thanks) as dad was going to have an operation to remove a cancerous polyp in the colon.
well, last weekend he got rung up and told to get to the hospital fast - they had found a clot in a vein in the chest.
as the clots were caused by the polyp they decided to operate last sunday.
Hello Muse. It must be a great relief for you that the operation went so well. I wish your father a speedy recovery.
I was surprised to read of the attitude of the older ones concerning the 1914 issue - but I suppose every new generation that comes along can dismiss the former teachings more easily, (as I think we all have at some point).
i have been df'd for over 3 years (for the third time... you know it's the charm).
i have an 8 year old who is being taught by my parents the same things that i was taught, including how we can't celebrate birthdays.
i have been doing a little research on the origin of worldly customs, such as weddings and birthdays only to find that there are many wedding customs that witnesses have adopted that have pegan origins.
I have seen this on here before - but how is it possible to stumble others by making a decision of conscience for yourself?

Sadly, yes. My nights are getting shorter. I rose at 2.30am a few days ago. I think I may just try a black coffee, need a hot drink!

Well, it's 5.50am here - and I've been up an hour. I appear to have no milk for coffee, so am having a Coca-Cola instead .....

Good for you 9th Wonder - and you're so right, I never understood any Biblical reason for not celebrating birthdays. I was told that as Jesus's birthday (date) wasn't acknowledged, then neither should ours' be...and I can't remember the last same time someone was beheaded at a Birthday party.

i mean think of how easy it is to research information on the world wide web, and then think of the shitty dumbed down articles that you find in the wt society's periodicals

i received an sms last night from ozzie himself saying on saturday he collapsed and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital.. he is being operated on again this morning (wednesday 29/6/05 australia time).
as usual with the particular operation he is having there are serious risks.
i ask his friends to send anything positive his way today.
