Call me cynical - but I don't believe a word of it. It's the sort of storyline you see in old black and white films (which aren't used anymore as they're so unbelievable).
I wonder when this supposedly happened? Did the victims call the police? They must have been able to give a lot of information. OR were they just relieved that THEY were out of danger and the next victims would most likely be Worldly?

If you're not going to meetings, then it's only a matter of time before your Mum finds out. Doesn't sound like it will be too long either - would she contact your 'New Hall' just to see how you're ''settling in''? I think you have to weigh up the consequences of being honest now against those of being found out.
Personally, I think lying is never a good thing - if found out your Mum could blame it on your new lifestyle (leaving home etc, mixing with 'Worldly' people getting you into such things as being dishonest) and it's also stressful for you.
As you're now working too, and coping with life changes, you have less time to attend meetings - perhaps you could use your busy lifestyle to fade.

What do you like to read?
by JH in.
i must still be programmed to think like a jw, cause i like to read articles about how bad things are going in the world.
the worse the world conditions become, the more i love to read.

Agatha Christie!!
The best recent (fiction) book I've read is ''Nobody True'' by James Herbert - I'd recommend it.

When do you put a dog down?
by katiekitten inim at my dads house at the moment and they have this dog thats 14 years old, and apparently this brand of dog has an average life expectancy of 10, so shes had a good innings.. now im not a dog owner, so its pretty easy for me to say i think they should put the dog down.
my dads wife is very sentimental about the dog.
i would say she was very attached to it, but for all her sentimentality, she has never walked the dog (its always been my dad) and she is not the one who gets up in the night with a mop and bucket - that'd be dad too.

The dog is clearly past its 'Sell By Date'' - Dad's wife is quite happy to let others take responsibility for cleaning up after it - maybe she doesn't want ANY responsibility, like making decision to have it put down - guilt etc.

My lad's school uniform cost around 150 quid, and has to be replaced every few terms. Not to mention the 'regulation' footwear (detention for not wearing correct uniform/footwear).

A heartfelt warning to parents
by Stealth453 inyesterday, at 5 in the afternoon, my 17 year old son was swarmed and beaten by a gang of 6 young males.
in broad daylight, on the busiest corner of the city, in front of his horrified girlfriend and about 300 passers-by.
he is in the hospital with head injuries.
