Good to see you back - I had a theory (but kept it to myself, as I'm usually wrong, lol) as to why you disappeared for a while.

...am I reading this correctly..?
"He approached elders at his church and told them and they said it was wrong and that if it continued he would have to be dis-fellowshipped by
the church.
...and again here...(I'm reading this as though the victim is being blamed - by the Elders..?)

More Society cutbacks - Society says "screw you" to the publishers yet again
by sir82 inat our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.
in years past magazines were sent to each congregation po's home address via ups.. going forward, magazines will be sent only as far as the assembly hall.
it is the responsibility of each kingdom hall to send brother(s) twice a month to drive out there, pick up the magazines, and return.. this of course saves a little bit of money for the society - shipping larger packages to fewer addresses will cost less.. however, what about the expense to the local congregations?.

funny how there making the JW's think that times are so bad now and the end is sooooo sooooo soooo near that they have to start cutting things back....
Good one peaches...when the end was so, soooo VERY close decades ago, publishers were encouraged to sell up etc and put 100% into preaching work (you know, the poor families that lost everything). You'd think, if they believed their own words, they'd sell up all their lovely treasures on Earth (instead of trying to grasp more) and subsidise the R&F to preach till the VERY IMMINENT end.

It´s funny you STILL go and hang on every word. Sounds like some kind of obsession to me.
Oh, the irony

The article doesn't mention if the lad was Baptised..? Let's see Paul Gillies claim that 'we only Baptise as adults' as he did (on UK morning TV programme) after Emma Gough died refusing blood.
Poor lad, such a waste

Blondie - I can't find it but I remember an experience in the magazines about a brother who was killed by a man at the door who ended up studying in prison and becoming a jw, upon release he put in 200 hours a month to make up for the pioneer brother and for himself (back in the 100 hr/mo day)
I heard that one as a teen at my Kingdom Hall...looking back, I find it hard to believe.

Black Sheep: my wife is buying into this without any shadow of doubt. When I pointed the generation change to her, she thought it was perfectly logical
Same here. When I mentioned this to 'my JW', they pre-empted me by saying they'd ALWAYS believed it (???). It's like every former belief they've ever had is just erased in a heartbeat.

The weather is glorious at the moment too...last year I saw (in my road) a JW out with his two lads (aged about six and eight) both dressed as you'd expect. They were dragging their feet and looked so miserable...a gloriously warm Saturday morning. I felt sad for them.
