who was he really talking to, i know jws believe it was jesus but it has puzzled me my whole life because i believed jesus had to have had a mother.
if he is saying let us make mankind in our image he then created two different beings a man and a woman, where does the image of the woman come from, how, why and from whose image are woman from, her body shape, voice sounding softer, and so on?.
sure i understand the whole rib thing but it goes to reason that there had to be some other being besides jesus he was speaking to, other wise mans companion would have naturally been another man, because the image of jesus is a man and the image of god is also manly.
That scripture supports the Trinity doctrine. 1 God in 3 persons. God begats God. I look at as Jesus being a clone of God. God in the person of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all played a role in the creation.
"In the beginning God created teh heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." (Gen. 1:1-2)
ive been reading this forum for a long time, but this new situation has come up and now it looks like i need your help.
i thought i dodged a bullet.
my wife and i were both jws, and we both left it together.
Another thing, is the high control group history. It really is a good idea to get post exit counseling. We pack a LOT of wrong ideas and bad thinking patterns with us when we leave the groups.
I'd make a goal to be happy first, then if I still want to divorce I'd get divorce counseling first. If ya think a marriage is hard, a divorce is much harder. A successful divorce requires much more work and cooperation than a marriage does. I see people have MUCH more trouble with a bad divorce than I see having trouble with a bad marriage.
There's a big difference between a young couple with no children and no assets divorcing and a couple with children divorcing.
I say if there is abuse, neglect, or addiction, document that and go for full custody. If not, deal with the problem in a rational way that's in the best interest of the children.
Excellent advice. I highly recommend marriage counseling. I find that many people expect to have the first in love feeling throughout their marriage and that is just not realistic. Marriage has ups and downs. I have been married 10 years this April (1st husband). My husband was married previously and has 3 children with his 1st wife. He now has custody of the children and I'm glad he does, but the children have paid a terrible price for their parents divorce. All in all they are good kids, but I see some of the emotional scars too. Divorce is not something to take lightly and everything should be tried before deciding to go through with it.

notice the brainwashing.the service meeting was very informative and clearly helped spell out the duties of our dear elders in helping us during a trying time.
it also made things very clear to each one of us regarding our individual responsibility when it comes to making our own choices on the blood issue.
In a time when people use more written ways to communicate, The WT seems to still use word of mouth.
Well look where their writings have gotten them now. When they write it down and make it public there's a documented history of their flip flops.

So there was a 5 page letter from the GB? When was this read? Did anyone write down the important facts? I need to know because I told still in the dark JWs on another site that there may be new light on blood coming this week. They lied and told me there was no such info. I would love to make them eat crow.

Been there, done that. I was out of work and turning down job offers that would have interfered with meeting attendence™. I was firm in my conviction that "Jehovah would provide". I ended up losing my apartment. The JWs laughed loudly and publicly at my predicament. If it were not for my parents I would have ended up sleeping in underpasses.
And none of them felt the need to help out their brother / sister in need? Sad. They totally miss the whole point of Jesus' teachings.

hello everyone, i've been lurking for quite a while now and am enjoying my time on this forum.
i wasn't born or raised a jw, but married into it....sorta.
my husband was raised a jw, never baptized, and became inactive once married.
The websites posted above are all good. I use all of those. My preferences for a Bible translation is the NIV for reading and NASB for studying. I was told that the Message Bible is a little flakely, but I haven't checked it out for myself.
two elders are coming round to "shepherd" me next week.. i've been reading the article available by jon mitchell?
about rev:7 discussing the 1980 w.t which is full of lies about naos and hieron.. i'm going to bring this w.t up but i know the elders will mention the scriptures in psalms 37 and isaiah to prove that there is an earthly paradise.. is there a good logical way to refute these scriptures?.

Actually, the rapture plays a part in this scenerio. The rapture will happen, I believe, right before the 7 bowls of wrath. At the time of the rapture, those who are in Christ will be taken to heaven until Jesus returns at Armageddon. At the start of the 1000 years, those who have been saved will return to earth.
