The last few days have been sorta rough. The only thing that has got me thru was this site. Just being here I don't feel AS crazy as I can be. Been job hunting, with no luck. Plus my JW mom is back on her kick in every email, "if you'd only come back to jehovah". Yea, like that's goning to happen in my lifetime!! Tonight I finally let her know AGAIN, that topic is off limits. And this time I wasn't too nice. NOBODY wants to argue with me!!
So, yea, I'm addicted to anything that makes me feel better, including this site!! And all of ya'll!!

Has anyone had a tonsillectomy as an adult?
by chrissy inmy ent ordered that my tonsils come out, and i am scheduled for this mini-op next thursday.
i heard that its a lot more painful for adults and the risks are greater.
the dr. said it is mostly just an excruciatingly painful experience, and pain meds will be prescribed to make life worth living for the two weeks following the procedure.

I had mine taken out when I was 18. Make the doctor give you some good pain pills and have alot of ice cream and popsicles.
I have helped in the OR during hundreds of them. They are very routine!!! You'll be fine!! Get all your yelling done now. You won't have a voice for awhile. My family loved that. Get you a small notebook and pen for writing alot of notes.

Buck,
I'm looking at the clock, figuring you're already in your meeting. I FEEL your pain. Listen to what everyone has said to you. This is serious. What you do now can affect the rest of your life! Which if you do go into their world, your life as you know it is over. Your life no longer belongs to you. Once your in, it's hell to get out.
So please, RUN LIKE HELL. Don't look back!!

first post, need to purge my feelings!
by Krista inthis is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.
our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.
they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

And I'll even share my tequilia with you. Can't do the high-heel thing, I'd bust my ass!

Today I have 11 clean off meth. I've been doing this for a couple years. I used to beat myself up when I'd relapse. But this time I lost my family. After 11 months my daughter is finally talking to me like before. I've gone to 2 rehabs, left early both times. They tell me I'm bipolar. I'm struggling with that and taking medication. I lost my nursing license 2 years ago for drug diversion. Hell, I'd been doing diuladids for a long time.
I'm trying to do it right this time. I go to NA meetings, use my sponsor, meditate and do everything I'm told, no matter if I want to or not. Being around these sites helps alot. I'm finding friends. For a long time, I isolated from everyone cause I didn't trust myself. I found I had to start forgiving. I was eat up with bitterness.
He's going to need alot of love and support. He needs you to love him when he can't love himself. The mental health dr. should be able to connect him with some programs that will health. Usually the medication is a hit and miss thing. He may not get it right the first time. Keep working with the doctor.
It's good that he has support. The last year, it's been a long road on my own. But I guess that's what it took for me. I think my punishment was having to leave Texas and move to Oklahoma to clean up.
And it's going to be just as hard on you. You can't fix him. He has to do it.If you ever need just to talk, my email is [email protected]
