I'm sorry that both his parents are deceased. I also want to add that heatherg's idea about terminating his parental rights is a good one. I am seriously considering this option myself. I don't want anyone in my daughter's life that has to be forced by the law.

Is this fair?
by devinsmom inok so some of you may know that i just divorced a man who has been a deadbeat dad to our son from the very start.
i left him shortly after we found out i was prego for several reasons including his not desiring to be there for me as i was scared and newly pregnant, he would rather continue to be an alchoholic loser, out all the time to the bars or in some chics bed or whatever.
so he has not paid any of the ordered child support (my son is almost a year old) he never showed up to any of our divorce hearings.

You do need to report him, because child support is swamped with cases and they do need constant reminders. I have been dealing with a dead beat ex-boyfriend for 4 years and only just started receiving child support. Trust me those bench warrents do catch up with them, but it does take a while. My ex-boyfriend has been to jail, I think 3 times, because of his failure to pay. Everytime he went he would pay whatever to get out and then would not pay his support. This last time he was sentenced to 90 days and was being released every day to go and take care of his new baby so that the mom could go to work. (I can tell he never changed). Any ways Child Support petitioned that and the judge ruled that he could only be released for work or work search. Well, it's been a couple of months and I've been getting my check regularly, so I will have to wait and see how long his girlfriend will keep paying for his abandoned child. I assume that it is her that is paying because this guy is slick and will do anything not to work. I do have one question, do his parents try to cover for him or are they supportive of your situation?

Hi Paul. There are many British people here. I have both UK and US citizenship. I live in America, but my heart is in England. Anyhow, I'm glad you came to this site and I know you will find support here.

Hi everybody, I´m a new member from Spain
by benito infirst of all, i want to apologize for all the mistakes i will probably make, i m not very good at english, it s very hard for me to think in another language different than my native tongue (spanish, of course!!)..
i ve been lurking through this forum for a long time but i didn t dare write here because of my lack of knowledge of the language but i changed my mind.
i think i can give a different point of view from other members of usa of uk, it seems that most of the members are from theses countries.

How Do YOU Feel Knowing That YOU Were In A Cult?
by minimus infor years, i refused to think of the witnesses as a "cult".
too harsh and restrictive of a word for me......but there is no denying that we were all in a mind controlling cult.
are you embarrassed or uncomfortable knowing that you belonged to a cult just like the moonies and the branch davidians are/werw a cult?

Sometimes I feel angry knowing that I was raised in a cult, but mostly I feel sadness for the relatives that are still slaving away for the organization. I truly believe their lives are miserable, a few of them suffer from depression and social anxiety, and the rest just see the world as doom and gloom.

Worldly People
by Undecided ini was sitting in my car in a parking lot and an old woman came out with a shopping cart with a few items in it.
she was putting them in the back of a pickup truck and it was a little high for her to lift things over the side.
she had a bag of dogfood or something like it and a young woman saw that it would be hard for her to lift it and she ran over and lifted it over for her and pattied her on the back and walked over to her car and left.

Yes, I agree that on the average "worldly" people are just as kind, if not kinder, than Witnesses. My children are four years old and seven months old, so when I run errands my hands are usually full. I get a lot of assistance from "worldly" strangers if I look overwhelmed. How do I know they are "worldly"? They don't start talking about Jehovah as soon as they are done helping me.

spiritualism
by Ellie in.
can i just ask, has anyone ever had any bad experience after buying anything from a spiritualist type shop?.
i ask because today i walked past a shop in my town that sells crystals and things and they do tarrot and that kind of thing, i picked up enough courage to go in to have a look and i saw this lovely fairy candle holder, i really liked it but i am a bit afraid to buy it as i guess i've had it drummed in to me that those things are channels for demons.

Welcome ellie! I have some fairy statues, my daughter has at least 10 troll dolls, and I burn incence on a daily basis. I'm sure that I do more things that should supposedly invite the demons, but I have never had anything bad happen to me. So go ahead and buy the candleholder.

Thanks for the site. I love NIN. I love Trent Reznor too. I saw them in concert 5 years ago and it was one of the best shows ever!! I hope I get the chance to see them in concert again.

What did they all do on "worldly holidays" when you were home alone?
by LongHairGal ini always hated being alone on thanksgiving or christmas.
what bothered me was that if it were known you accepted an invitation by relatives it was frowned upon.
but what got to me was this: is god more pleased that i am home looking at four walls alone rather than being over somebody's house??

When I was a child we did absolutely nothing on the holidays. Halloween was the worst, because kids used to start trick or treating AFTER sundown in my neighborhood and my mom would turn off all the lights and close the curtains to give the illusion of not being home. Nothing beats sitting in the dark at home while all your classmates are out collecting candy. Pisces
