    hi all

    i disassociated myself just over 2 years ago. i grew up in the truth so now i feel a bit lonely and out on a limb with no friends.... feels so strange cos i had so many mates in the truth. I still believe what JWs believe and im not seeking an alternative religion or anything like that. i left cos i had issues with elders (like most ppl i guess its a long story!)

    Im new to this site and this is the first time i have looked up ex-witnesses on the internet. are there many ppl from the UK on here?

    Lot's of folks from the UK, in fact the site's founder (Simon) is a Brit.

    Welcome , you'll find many here who know understand your situation and know what you are going through. Read a lot - on the main page there is a section called "Best Of", very useful for a newbie!!!

    . i grew up in the truth !!!!! Sorry darling after MUCH research I have found it is not as you say TRUTH!!!!

    Welcome to the board .... I know how difficult it must be to grow up believing you have the only truth...Yet Jesus told us HE was the WAY! TRUTH! Life!!! so why did we all hang on every word MAN at Bethel said???? Because we trusted them!! We are not supposed to put our trust regarding GODS veiws on any man...In time I think if you read all about the "truth" ( lie) you will see they did not speak it ....

    i guess i use the 'truth' as a by-word for the organisation, its just what is natural to me. as i mentioned i have no desire to disbelive it, its just the lifestyle is no longer for me.

    Hi Paul

    I'm from the uk, north east. I knew nothing about your religion six months ago, but Ive studied watchtower literature and the Bible every day to understand my lifelong mates ongoing conversion. At first I thought it was doing him good, as a was brought up in a very Bible based religion, more so than JWs.

    After initially having heated arguments with my friend about religion, I have calmed down the more I learn. I could not understand however the need for such severe watchtower censorship. Having researched 125 years of watchtower publications, I now understand why the truth about the truth must be hidden and covered up at all costs. The whole experience has led me back to Christianity after more than 25 years.

    I have been studying with a PO for 6 weeks now, extremely interesting.
