  Do you miss feeling that "Jehovah" was listening to prayers?

  this is hard to explain, but i will try.

  the other day, my neice was put in the hospital for test , after having two seizures, she is 20 and has never had any medical problems at all.

  i now know, that by doing that it seemed to take the burden of helplessness off of my shoulders.

  I really believe if the prayer is from your heart it will be answered. I only say this because I have seen it in my life. Here is an example I unfortanatly started smoking again and i have been trying hard to stop but have been unsuccessful. I would stop for a little while then I would have one and it would start over again. I realized I could not do it alone, so as many desperate people do I prayed for help. I have also been keeping it from my wife because she would be very mad and hurt about it, not to mention I am a chicken. For hiding it from her I am very sorry. Anyway, tonight she caught me. She helped me the first time to stop and i did for many months. I know she can help me again. Did God answer my prayer. He didn't step in to stop it but maybe he sent my best friend to do it for him. I will not bore you with the rest of the stories.

  go to school dressed as a dark jedi and bring my double bladed saber on may 19th.

  even better, awards ceremoney is that day..so ill have to walk out infront of the whole school.

  Real great idea to bring a knife to school. "Shaking my head" I guess it could be a good experience in Juvinial Hall, getting kicked out of school, embarassing your parents. Maybe your crazy coolness could even get you some fines. nothing like giving money to the government. Try to do a little thinking about this.

  Its a bummer he left. Made things so interesting. It's not about being a jw anymore or even being a Cristain. Its all about Faith. That is what he was talking about. What if you found out it was happening in an hour. How would you feel. Sick to your stomach or happy that it would finally be over?

  Can someone explain Ezekiel 4:12-17. Did God approve of eating Human feces?

  help me posters out there.

  my atheist cousin insist that the bible is full of contradictions, and lies and he uses ezekiel 4:12-17 to try and prove that jehovah is just as sick and demented as satan the devil.

  he showed me these scriptures where jehovah told ezekiel to bake cake using human feces but ezekiel refused to do it.

  How did the elders explain John 20:28 My Lord and My God when you were a JW

  when i was a devout jw i was out in field service and ran into a baptist preacher.

  we went back and forth about jesus and the trinity doctrine.

  i was not to strong on the trinity doctrine so the elder with me took over the conversation with the preacher.

  Vs.31 calls him the son of god. Hmmm interesting conflict. I don't think anyone really knows. no one I know was there.

  I hope you are right. I really have to say though that noone knows when. I know the jw's think they knew when but they have thought that for a long time and the time keeps changing. i think what should really be told by you, and i hope God would agree, now is the time to try and do everything a person can to make things right with God. It really doesn't matter when it is going to happen. like you said a thief in the night. I wish the jw's would stop trying to predict and start trying to live. Looking for a date can help by creating urgency but it can also lead to dissappointment and frustration. I would also think it could lead to a loss of faith. People should not have faith that their religion is the correct one or that the doctrin, or dates set by it are right but they should have faith that God will do what he said he would in the Bible. I hope I am ready.

  Well I hope you are what you say you are. It is often hard for me to believe in man at all. FOr all I know you could be some crazy ex-jw on acid trying to take your agression out by confusing people on this board. i hope not. Thankyou for caring if you are true. I don't know if you can talk to God or not but could you tell him thanks and i am sorry. Thank Jesus too.

  Just so everyone knows I am not a jw. I do however believe in God, Jesus and everything that has to do with it. I know it is hard. Just like the Bible says, there is a time that it seems their is no God. I really do have faith that someday he will straiten things out for us. I don't know how or when and i really don't care, i just know he will.

  Estephan, I do believe all are true.

  Anywho as far as those that are showing hatred it is hard not to. Remember this board is full of ex-jws. Many df'd, shunned by there old friends and even their own family. i know it makes me mad at the jw's, and that is why I will have nothing to do with them, which is maybe why they react how they do. You are trying to teach them jw doctrin, something almost all of us gave up on.

  Use of the word jah?

  i have noticed on ex sites the use of the word jah in reference to jehovah.

  is this just a slang used by ex's or do active also use it?

  if active members use it, doesn't it seem a bit disrespectful then?

  I think they do. I remember hearing "Praise Jah you people". Maybe in a song or a scripture or something.
