My brother owns his own business... dealing with the public on a daily basis has become almost unbearable for him. Seems there is no pleasing people these days. The stress of it is really getting to him and he talks a lot of just selling and getting out. I wish he would.

No, I don't receive this type of thing, if I did I would just delete it. But, I am "Sure" that if you told them you are seeing a worldly man...there is no doubt as to why they sent it.

When my JW husband passed away, I married a so called "Worldly" man, and believe me.... It was not a "Disgrace". He is a wonderful, kind, understanding person. Generous to a fault.... my Rock..........

at the advanced age of 53, i got braces on my teeth.
the bummer is, my teeth are not even crooked.
i still have two baby teeth (my eye teeth) and the permanent ones are still up there.

I have to have 2 years of braces (plus oral surgery) to fix this issue. They are actually going to try to bring the permanent ones down. Expensive, painfull and invconvenient.
You certainly have a lot to go thru... I understand how that is, I have just completed a lot of extensive dental work, it was totally worth it.
I hope you feel the same when all is said and done... (((Hugs)))

i use to, well i still do think its no better than the confession idea to a priest.. 1. how many elders step down and are removed and what then?.
2. how many people have access to the file cabinet?.
3. my biggest thought is how many that are no longer elders repeat the dirty little secrets?.
Hubby and I were in a car group one morning with 2 Elders, they began discussing a JC meeting they had had the evening before with a sister... and I'm thinking....
I shouldn't be hearing any of this...
Didn't seem to bother them tho.........I personally wouldn't want to mention anything to them, there's no way to guarantee anything would remain confidential.

when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.
I was told I was too "Aggressive" and needed to tone it down a bit........ LOLOLOL

the reason i ask this is because when i was on the field way back in the day - i really couldn't be bothered if the householder was interested or not.
if they took literature and paid for it (we asked a certain price for literature before it all became on a donation basis) it was a bonus, plus meant money for a cooldrink / tea & cake afterwards.. actually i would prefer it if they weren't interested so i could get away from the door - sometimes their ""conversation stoppers"" made too much sense and i couldn't answer back.. that meant i didn't convert anybody.
do you think most of the jws' are like that today?
I'd say some of the older ones in my congregation did their best to convert people, others wanted studies just to brag that they had them. I cared, but there was too much controversy in my mind to be sincere about what I was saying at the door.

This happen to me a lot. I loved talking to the elderly...but then, I would find myself agreeing with them, and wishing I had faith like they did about their own religion...
