A NEW Flock book has been released, with notes by a Presiding Overseer

for several years there has been available a pay attention to yourselves and to the flock book in pdf and html format.

this book has proven to be extremely valuable in exposing the morally questionable activities of the watchtower society.

now we have a new version that is even more valuable because it contains the hand-written notes of a presiding overseer, some notes as recent as late 2005. these notes are frequently dictated to elders by a circuit overseer or district overseer in order to avoid liability (the wts can deny every giving such instructions).

There is nothing wrong with the WTBTS being a member of the United Nations

apparantly, these days it is general knowledge in our local congregation that the wtbts had joined the united nations as an ngo!.

this is not a problem i am reliably told by a local relative.. the un nations deserves the same respect as any other governmental authority and just as jehovah's witnesses would obey the law of the land there is no problem in being part of the united nations!

i know jws have their minds well and truly under control, but as i remember the united nations was bad mouthed from its inception by the wtbts.. hyprocrisy, lying and slander were all words that crossed my mind when talking to this relative, but the huge pointlessness of trying to wake up a jw from their 'cosy' fantasy world suddenly struck me and i made my excuses and left..

i finally found my way to the silent lamb website, and am at this moment shaking with disgust and anger.

i know from experience that the organization covers up child abuse issues, and protects the abusers.

i just hadn't read anything like this before.

Shunning of ex JW family members imposed or optional?

some supportes of the jws argue that the wts does not impose on its followers to shun and disgrace ex jw family members, it leaves them the option to decide on the issue and some shun and others do not.

is that an honest arguments or is it like the blood issue where the wts supposedly doesn't impose on its members the decision to refuse blood?

for all we know the non shunning of ex jw family members except for absolutely necessary contact could lead a jw to dfing.

For 33 years as a 3rd generation born Jehovah's Witness I went door to door with a Bible in my hand and Watchtower society literature.On YOUR door step,convinced in my heart of hearts that unless I recruited you as a Jehovah's Witness that you and your family would all die a horrible ghastly death. This is what the Watchtower sect programmed me to believe. Moreover,this is what I spent all my time,money promoting and this is what all 3 generations of my Haszard clan promoted. This is what the Watchtower sect indoctrinated us to believe. At 5 meetings a week,weekend 'meetings for field service' pep rallies we would be reminded that we were the world's only hope. This is what the Watchtower sect brainwashed us to believe. Our message that we carried door to door that I had been drilled and knew by heart from hundreds of meetings: God's Kingdom by Jesus Christ was established in the year 1914 and this generation (meant to convey the immediacy of the right now in my youthful lifetime) will get to see Armageddon and the paradise . This is what the Watchtower sect trained me to believe. It was all a LIE!

For 50 plus years the masthead of the Watchtower,viewed when you opened up to the inside front cover would read as follows:

"This magazine(Watchtower) builds up confidence in the Creators PROMISE of a peaceful and secure "new world" before the generation "that witnessed" the EVENTS OF 1914 passes away"".
By their own admission the Watchtowers has published this dogma in hundreds of millions of pieces of their own literature.

They deleted this false Adventist millerite derived prophecy in 1995 because it had FAILED.

The Watchtower leadership has "purged" hundreds of thousands of followers over the years for failing to uphold the 1914 (Jesus came to power) loyalty oath to this now defunct dogma.

The Bible clearly warns to turn away from false prophets.

1914, Generation doctrine belief change!

i had the dubious pleasure of explaining the 1914 generation change doctrine to a relative who has been a jw for all of his life the other day.

he didn't even know that there had been a generation change and that the wt was no longer claiming that those alive in 1914 would still be alive when armageddon struck.. however, he said he would only believe me if i could tell him the exact date of the watchtower that explained this change.. though i know it is 1995, i do not know the exact date/issue and he refused to research it claiming it would show lack of faith on his part if he questioned his beliefs....but he said he would look it up if i told him which issue it was.. so, please, could anyone direct me to the exact issue in which this world shattering event was revealed?.

i remember, many jws, especially elderly ones being shocked at this revelation, but obviously this particular relative was not concentrating at the time!!
