Cheney said he had no intention of apologizing because he wasn't ashamed he used the word and "actually felt a lot better after letting it out". Okay...... How about Bush calling a reporter an a**hole on the day he was passing a bill regarding censorship of the media?...... This is all perfectly acceptable...hmmmmmm....

There was quite a discussion here about that and many disagreed with him as well as the public. His comment to him took place during a personal conversation, which was overheard by others there. It was not as if congress was in session and he was screaming this at him. I am not condoning his words just that they were two seperate theaters if you will.

IMO having a fund raiser where you are begging for money for your campaine to represent your party and allowing those type of remarks is not acceptable, it was not just one remark, but one of many by Whoopi. If it is nothing to sneeze at if you will, why are they refusing to release the tape of the evenings events. This tells quite a bit IMO. Cheney admits he said those words, what is being hidden and why by Kerry and Edwards?

Home Alone

here i am home alone........ my hubby works out of town from time to time...it never fails, how even though i am dead tired..i get in bed and think i "hear" something or "see" something....geez...you would think i was 10...scared to death...lol.

i guess i just don't like being in an empty house...does anyone here really like being alone at night???.

I sleep with a white noise machine, it comforts me and keeps me from hearing all the little noises that we wonder about--yet I can hear what I need to hear.

What freaks me out is when one of my cats sits on the bed and all of a sudden rears up and stares at something in the hallway. I know there is nothing there but keep looking because the damn cat is 'watching' something that is not there. Scares me everytime and I can't stop myself from looking for whatever the cat is staring at for minutes on end.

To add to Big Tex's post, the Doctor didn't know what time of day the fellow drank or if he drank and drove.

One of my thoughts as well, it amazes me that this is acceptable.

My ex-husband had his drivers license revoked by the state after a doctor repoted that he refused to take his anti-seizure medication. What he did not report was the meds were having a adverse affect on his liver, killing him and he ( my ex) asked to be given a different med, which the doctor had refused to do. My ex went to another doctor for different meds, ( I was driving after he quit the meds in the first place) that doctor was amazed at the damage to his liver and put him on the different meds immediatly.

It took my ex almost two years to get his license back and almost twice as long to get insurance without going to a company who gouged you. It came to the point he had to get an SR22 for quite some time. And this because the doc did not feel it necessary to listen to his patient and or his test results. Believe me I understand there are some who should not drive with seizure conditions if not under control but the whole situation could have been avoided.

Where did you draw the line?

with the promise that a few of those who saw 1914 would also see the end of this system of things, where did you draw the line, and say the 1914 generation has passed?.

naturally some born in 1914 are still alive, but not many.

does this mean that the 1914 generation as taught by the witnesses is still plausible?

JWs believe that the oldest a person can live is 120 years.
Therefore, 1914 + 120 = 2034
If the end does not come by then, they are screwed.

It was my understanding that you had to be able to grasp what was happening in 1914 at the time, not born in 1914. So you ( as taught to me) had to be about 17-20 years in 1914 for it to apply. One according to the JW's needed to understand the meaning of the times during that time. Cassi, correct me if I am wrong

No problem LW, I just think it stupid that the US is looking to prosecute him for playing a game of chess. But 'Million's Martha' gets off with a 5 month sentence and a 30,000 dollar fine WTF for insider trading or should I say lying to investigators?
