Hey Gary,
Always appreciate your "straight shooter" comments. So the Jazzmaster and amp are gone? I used to have a Fender Jaguar. Really wish I had kept that. Candy apple red. Yeah, those guitars (pre-CBS) would be worth a mint. I've gone acoustic now too in my old age. Couple of Ovations (Adamas). Never had a Caddy or Harley. Just a few Volvos and Honda two-wheelers. My thanks also for sharing your joys and sorrows, especially as they relate to the common backdrop of our common lives.

DA by making own announcement at KH
by Alligator Wisdom ina brother would state that he is "no longer a jehovah's witness" after his part on the service meeting.
a sister would state the same after her talk on the tms.
or anyone for that matter can express such after making a comment at the watchtower study.

"Dangerous Apostates"
by fullofdoubtnow inhave any of you ever been called a dangerous apostate?
i have, and so has trev.
my friend marion just called me, and her sister angela, who is a nominal jw, and attends occasional meetings, went last sunday because her friends' son was giving the public talk.

"Apostate" according to the Bible means: one who rejects God and Christ.
"Apostate" according to modern dictionaries means: one who abandons their religion
The WT uses the modern dictionary definition to villify any who disagree with them, and then treats them as if they were "Apostate" according to the Bible definition (or use).
Since you aren't an apostate by the Bible use of the term (assuming, that is), then you can honestly answer NO to that question. Let them figure it out.
As to being dangerous, any former member of the JWs who leaves because of standing on principle, is VERY dangerous, not to the individual, but to the ORG, because the more people who will hear you out as to your reasons, the greater the coming tidal wave. Then nip it in the bud (usually) by DFing you for whatever reason they can find or think up. That way you are villified and off limits to any JW in good standing, hence quarantined, or as I like to say, ANATHEMATIZED.
While having a conversation with a close friend the night before we sent the letter out to all our friends, she told me that I was dangerous. If I had the presence of mind, I would have like to have responded: "The WT Society is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people through double standards, deceit and manipulation. Yet, I am the dangerous one? Tell me, who have I ever harmed?" Ah well, you always think of the better response later.

C.O. is in town, the harassment begins...
by PeachRose ini haven't been to meetings in a long time (trying to fade).
ever so often i do run into a witness or 2 who are friendly, but reserved (after all i am considered in active).
anyway, my hubby & i are currently working on a letter to send to the society that will more then likely get us df'd or disassociated (same thing i guess).

Do you have a peephole in your front door? If you're not expecting guests and peek out and its the Men in Black, just don't answer. That's what we did when the CO and elder came to our house. There's nothing cowardly about it at all. They are uninvited guests. You don't have to answer the door. I strongly recommend against opening the door or having any discussion with them. If you must, tell them you will call them when you are ready.

Wahhhhh!! I want to post some pictures here too. Where's the instructions? I've tried copy and paste and nothing shows up. Do I need to load the files to another site and then point to that site? If so, what site do you recommend?

Have you already posted somewhere what it was initially that caused you to begin to see the truth about the witnesses?
