  Blondie thanks for the meal at the proper time!

  It is nice they talk about love but just like everything else they have no clue.

  Reaper: It is nice that you saw through it and got your family out. After such a long time what a decision to make.

  It is nice that your children take direction from you as it shows they truly show respect for your authority.

  See, if we truly raise our children the way we were brought up to raise them they actually do listen to us.

  I loved all the comments in this thread.

  Retractions in the Watchtower

  every magazine, newspaper or other periodical i have ever read would from time to time print a retraction to correct mistakes in past articles.

  any reputable publishing house does this.. has anyone ever seen a retraction printed in the watchtower, awake, or any other wts publication?.

  Interesting Craig.

  Humility is not part of the GB's vocabulary.

  It takes humility to say we were wrong!

  They spew it out like the next injection but don't practice what they preach themselves.

  Now brothers and sisters be humble and enjoy cleaning the crapper for this is where you learn true humility, any complaints lodged will go against your permanent record.

  i just got this email this evening from the cto of my hosting provider: i am writing you in regards to your site www.dirtclod.com.

  we have been forwarded a copy of a complaint that was sent to our upstream provider regarding your site and the content which is posted on your site.

  it would seem that you are posting copyrighted sections and images which are legal property of watchtower bible and tract society of new york inc. please remove these offending letters and images which are being claimed are used without permission, or provide us a statement which allows you to publish/reproduce this content on your website.

  I have not seen anyone from my past at all. I didn't keep any friends from the borg.

  Now I am wondering if any of you heard about why the end didn't come in 1975?

  We were all told that the time we are living in is borrowed time. That Adam was busy naming the animals before he realized that he had no mate. So the time from 1975 on ward was the time it took for Adam to name the animals until Eve was brought forth. Now that is the reason they explained away the 1975 failed prophecy. They forgot to figure in the naming of the animals.

  And I forgot to put on my deordorant this morning. I made no phrophesy about it.

  As to your question Bornagain, they will find some reason why things didn't work and as mentioned in the thread it will be considered "new light". Of course the generation that saw the 1975 prophesy come and go will probably be the next generation to live forever. So hold onto your hats the ride is coming.

  Do you ever get them at the door?

  ok, i have been 'out' for about 9 years, now.

  in all that time i have lived in 4 different states.

  i have only had two visits from jw's during that time and both times they were from spanish congregations...the first time because my boyfriend at the time was mexican-american and someone told them we spoke spanish...the second time because my next door neighbors spoke spanish and they came to my place accidentally.. at any rate, both times as soon as they found out we spoke english, they scurried away and apologized for bothering us.

  Yes I just got a visit from two of the local elders. My they have grown old. Before that it had been a year when two tried to walk up my driveway and I yelled down, don't bother I am not interested.

  Before that it had been since 1995. Some come on the road but unless and elder is with them they don't stop at my house.

  it appears the man had no connection to the jw's previously, he just considered them an "easy mark".
