  Spare a thought for the nuisance callers

  up till now i have generally received (on average) one or two nuisance calls a day –sometimes more, sometimes none.

  although retired, i was out of the house about 20% of the time, but now that i’m home 100% of the time, i haven’t received a single nuisance call since the lockdown.

  is this just me, or is covid19 having a sever impact of their incomes?

  not only do they want everyone dressed up for the zoom meetings( which i won't do) they decided to keep the zoom meeting at 1pm sunday!

  so they don't upset their spiritual routine!

  We got an old guy who uses Zoom on his iphone for meetings

  He holds the phone on his lap with the camera pointed up.

  The main thing you see are these 2 giant nostrils.

  If my stomach could handle it, I could zoom in and count his nose hairs.

  I'm pretty sure you've posted this drivel on this site under different names in the past.

  As I noted on your other posts: If by "popular" you mean "most likely to be accumulated in stacks of several hundred in the back of the closet of a JW for years or even decades, never to see the light of day until said JW dies and his kids have to clear out the trash from his house", then yes, I agree with you.

  often they may speak the truth but i’m not convinced of whatever they are saying as being 100% true.

  ...tell the sheeple that "jehovah's earthly organization" is financially facing critical times, hard to deal with, which could threaten its survival and that it urgently requires as much money as the minions can send.. like every other business in the world, the cult needs a constant source of cash to exist.

  so with meetings, assemblies, and probably conventions being cancelled, the cash-cow is rapidly looking very precarious.. i reckon the financial brains in the wtbts will have devised a financial survival plan - based on the situation continuing/worsening.

  :) the sheep have all been fleeced - time to skin them!.

  I fully expect the urgent pleas to "give, give" to start up about the 2nd week in April, when the monthly contribution amounts normally flow into the WTS coffers, and the amounts are shockingly low (given that there were virtually no KH meetings nor assemblies for over half the month.

  "Give, give"....now where have I heard that before?

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Florida might be worse, but it’s not a country.

  It is kind of its own little universe but it is part of the USA. Thanks in part to Florida, expect the USA numbers to dwarf everywhere else soon.

  Do they have many cases so far?

  Undoubtedly, but no one knows for sure since there is a grave shortage of tests available.

  It's almost like it was easier to think it was all a "hoax" and do nothing until people actually started, you know, dying.

  Even if the UK dramatically altered course tomorrow and shut down, it will still have been far slower
  than most other countries have managed. It is a complete disaster.

  I dunno, if you count "Florida" as a country:

  -- bars & nightclubs open until 3 days ago

  -- beaches open until 2 days ago, and still technically up to local jurisdictions about whether to close them

  -- thousands or tens of thousands of college-age spring breakers, after mingling in that environment for multiple days, are now driving back home, undoubtedly a huge proportion of them carrying the virus with them to infect their home towns.

  I would not be surprised if Florida, with so many people 65+ and being even worse prepared for testing than most of the rest of the USA, just by itself surpasses the UK's, or even Italy's, overall death count.
