I see "jehovah" more like an adolescent boy who uses his size or fists to lord it over who ever he can. When his belly is full (usually overstuffed) he is peaceful and relaxed but when hungry watch out. As these boys age (not mature) they can become spousal abusers/sociopaths. The god of the bible is a self absorbed brat despite how hard christians try to spin it.

no doubt this voracious hunger for burnt flesh of lowly animals stems from the energy need after he experiences a uncontrollable bursts of anger creating a vicious cycle he can not break free of so that the only thing that can save him and turn him less violent is a human sacrifice from his heavenly son incarnate to quell his terrible anger.. maybe some form of oedipus complex too?.

Yes it's winter down here. I'm using the indoor weather to get a THR (total hip replacement) due to an old motorcycle accident. Recoup through the end of this season and then bring on summer! Oh to go hiking again and use my hammock(s). -

I have a OnePlus One which I updated to Cyanogenmod 12.01 as soon as I got it (thanks XDA). I have not updated to 12.1.1 as yet because the OPO forum is full of complaints about instability and bugs. Apparently Cyanogen is on the cusp of releasing an official update. -

I (currently) see belief in god/jesus this way.
Humans since evolving to self awareness (conscious) became terrified of being alone, to being if you like the ultimate decision maker for themselves and any who relied on them. Parents take this role but once we become adults we become personally responsible for our actions and inevitable errors. That's how we learn and continue to evolve.
If I pray to the spirit of my prey I will succeed in the hunt. Not such a stretch to say if I pray to god/jesus I will get everlasting life.
Both infantile, superstitious and stunt our growth as humans.

JW sighting while shopping
by Scully ini was out today at the grocery store, picking up a few things for the weekend, when just beyond the pineapples, i spotted a jw lady i was once friends with.. i wasn't interested in engaging in conversation, so i just continued picking out fruit, when out of the corner of my eye, i see her look at me and recognize me.
she looked like she was panicking, and then darted behind a pillar in the store, trying to hide from me!.
my dd was with me and noticed what happened.

Totally understand. I went in to a shop to buy a coffee and low and behold I (being half blind lol )sit next to some jws I knew 20 yrs ago. They looked scared. Why I don't know as I ignored them. They quickly grabbed their stuff and while squeezing past my table, made small talk with me. The husband asked "How are you?" and I answered. He repeated my words thinking I said "Struggling in life". I laughed and said "No, LOVING life"
That disappointed him as he expected disfellowshipped people to be sad and tragic. To add to his sadness my attractive and much younger girlfriend arrived.....
Actually both he and his wife looked very sad and tragic

Let's assume there was a man called Jesus and he got to be in front of the Governor....
Pilot, despite what christians say did not dither over guilt or innocence. He was a soldier and had used major force on the Jews previously. Imagine trying to rule this surly bunch who assumed they were god's people and that god would support their insurrection (despite dismal past and future failures).
He surely wouldn't have been interested at all in this know it all carpenter who claimed to be a king. Pilot was pragmatic. Keep the peace even if it costs the life of one possibly innocent man. Better to kill him than having to slaughter unknown hundreds if he let him free and the religious leaders stirred the people up on the "holy' festival day.
After Jesus said he was sent to earth witness the truth Pilot who was living evidence of the superiority of Greco/Roman knowledge and understanding (and power) asked a basic philosophical question "What is truth?"
Jesus knew that what ever his response Pilot would quickly and easily show how foolish and childish a belief in absolute truth is, so remained silent.

Today's groundless speculation thread - so why would a German copilot deliberately fly an airplane into a mountain?

the guy (a) evidently did all of this on purpose, and (b) evidently had no reason at all to do so.. there is a huge chunk of the puzzle missing from this one (so far)..
