2006 Special Convention only for a select group to be delegates

it was announced that for the 2006 int'l convention overseas, only pioneers for at least 15 years or elders for atleast 15 years are allowed to be delegates.

has there always been restrictions on who can attend?

i can't remember as it's been so long ago.

Thou shall not kill? Makes no sense?

i always thought, when reading the bible, that the commandment "thou shall not kill" made no sense.

after all, the god who supposely gave it commanded his own people to kill.

so i wonder, did that god actually mean, "thou shall not murder?

Killing is abhorrent to humans. It is against our nature, so we created jehovah to take the responsibility of killing from us. It's our dark side that we cannot face, so god does it not us....

Rather than wrestling over it's statis as fiction or non, I realised that the goddess has been removed from recent history. Mary certainly is pushed aside in the new testament despite her being very close to and the first to see the resurrected christ. The church did decide what went into the bible as apparently new texts found in Egypt have just been deciphered that were written about christ previous to the gospels....

I thought the book itself lacked rythym and little buid up of characters

Exit from the JWs

my exit from the jws, was roughly as follows-

our final letter to the congregation was in the form of a resignation.

we made at least 15 to 20 copies and sent the majority of them to so-called friends, 2 days later we sent the original to the body of elders.

I was laid up in hospital and received a handful of visits from my jw "friends" who I had associated with for 15 yrs. This got me thinking..A lot. It also got me thinking about the religion in general. When I got out of the hospital, the generation article came out and so did I I!!!

Those "friends" who I cursed back then, I can thank now for helping me see through the veneer of friendship and faith the jws really have.

It's all conditional

Yeah I was dissapointed...

Just a mish mash of Hinduism new age and pseudo science. I didn't realise that a cult produced it. That explains that born again look in the eyes of the interviewed...
