Have Jehovah`s Witnesses Really Complied With The Law In The State Of Victoria Aust.?With Regard to "Working With Children Checks."?
by smiddy ini have my doubts that they have.my understanding is that only a select few such as elders have got wwcc after years of non compliance.i dont think the rank and file , the majority of jehovahs witnesses going from door to door have obtained one , and if that is indeed the case , then they are still breaking the law.
i would appreciate it if their is anyone in victoria who still attends meetings or knows anybody who does to either confirm or deny my claim.. last year on regional radio abc gippsland talkback radio host celine foenander dealt with the subject who has to obtain "working with children checks" and many callers responded.one in particular stood out to me ,a self employed carpet cleaner had to obtain one before he could continue in his business simply because their could be children at home when he called.their were many similar stories like that.i phoned up and explained to the switch girl about jw`s non compliance.they were very interested in what i had to say but sadly ran out of time and it didn`t go to air.. i`m sure that if the government knew that every baptized jehovah`s witness was considered a minister of religion ,and are required to go door to door to spread their message , then every adult would be required to obtain a wwc check.. i look forward to your comments.
smiddy.

Something tells me they will go down the "keep the congregation clean" route and give you the flick. It may take another couple of meetings. On a side note I attended numerous Gold Coast congregations in my time which was finished before you got suckered (about 19996/7).

I agree with Soontobe (BTS) In this country 40 yrs ago (Australia), a degree was something that indicated you could research, write assignments well, could set goals and achieve them. Now it is a fully commercial enterprise as Gov funding dropped and private enterprise started to fill the gap. Of course to gain students it's inevitable in the free market that standards drop ( until there is a readjustment). What student wants to pay tens of thousands of dollars and fail? HIgh standards, less students gaining degrees and getting employment.
My ex lectures at Uni and (I hope she doesn't read this) I believe the standard of her work for her degree and masters was poor but she got a job. Considering the volume of students going through that Uni and the size of our country, there must be a point where a degree is useless, so the need for a readjustment.

That's exactly why I rarely comment and occassionally give this site a rest. Personally I see it as the height of rudeness to comment without reading previous posts.

I just googled Kurnai Australia, the example given for Australian belief in a flood story. The Kurnai were a tiny clan living on a fraction of the mainland. I recall that there were estimates of 500 different clans in Australia before white settlement. Cherry picked.

Adolescenceis strife with rebelliousness and independence, the reason why the booming interest and popularity of Tattooing
in today's youth and culture.
I got my first tattoo at 43
Putting signs and images on to oneself by Tattooing is a means to attract attention and somewhat accomplishes this intent,
The last thing on my mind was attracting attention
in some respects the uglier and grotesque the better.
LOL just LOL!
Unfortunately as people age their skin ages as well making tattoos look really bad .
I see old tatts and go that's very cool you had one so long. So what if the lines are blurred the intent is still there

One law, a dream...
by freeflyingfaerie inwhat if there was a universal law, only one law?.
the law would be that each mother and father must be loving toward their children.
no abuse of any kind.

From my experience I see that we are all born a clean slate, an empty page. "Caregivers" and others are handed a crayon. Some start off a little wobbly but through experience improve their writing on this page, sometimes an eraser is required but remnants of the writing remain. Others just scribble on the page creating chaos. Still others just crush and crumple the page and discard it.
It is our role as adults, whether parents, family or not to write with our very best hand writing on our precious pages, the next generation(s).

Don't you reckon he's a bit "loose" himself? His comment about a mini mal and surfing Mavericks. That place has monster surf as in 70' and only highly tuned professionals would dare go out. Doesn't take away from his bravery though.

It's a very long time ago but I met NY in Hong Kong at her first meeting after being released. All were crowding around her. I had no idea. I seem to recall that her children secretly paid a bribe to finally get her out but that was never printed. Actually I went to dinner at a very wealthy Chinese jws place and was there when they recorded her story for the wt. Actually I think a gb member flew out to do the recording and to catch up with Stanely Jones etc, It is sooo long ago I forget the details but they were all great people and happliy accepted me as just a rank and file. Why did she do it? Stubborness and that strange human trait that serving a god gives you a licence to do what ever is necessary....
