  let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..

  Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting

  the new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.

  here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.

  1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

  It's designed for the young ones, the whole concept to dumb down, they don't really care about the older mature b/s, the elders just will go along because most are society men and don't wan to lose their position.

  this is all about control nothing more nothing less and especially towards the younger ones, besides those born ins for the most wouldn't know how to defend most WT teachings by using the bible, its to make it easier placing leaflets mags its now acceptable don't worry about preaching from the bible really you have these leaflets that is all you need.

  How the Bible disproves the JWs' 1914 invisible presence doctrine.

  watchtower teaches jws that christ's presence began invisibly in 1914. they also teach that the start of christ's presence coincides with the start of the last days.

  whether you believe in the bible or not, watchtower claims these teachings come from the bible.

  so does the bible actually agree with them?

  Good points, thing is as you know JW teach of two comings, presence in 1914 then a coming to judge at Armageddon.

  The new service meeting

  i wanted to relate an experience that happened this morning.

  it is regarding the new format for the meeting on thursdays in my area.

  its not word for word but im summarizing what i heard, the best i can remember.

  the GB are really only interested in the young ones, or young parents this is the impression I have had for a long time.

  As many young ones leave not for the reasons that these elderly sisters have said, old ones will die of and its the young blood they need to try and keep in the org, to work for their building empire.

  on another thread shepherdless sketched out the past business model of jws and its demise.

  until 1990 they were a straightforward publishing business with the tremendous advantage of free labour in production and free distribution agents.

  since then they've been relying on donations for literature to keep the old model going.

  Congregation as a whole pay for the literature as far as I know its not free the b/s pay for it but its given away free, there was a time when it was emphasised to ask for a contribution from the HH, but no one ever really did they felt to embarrassed and any donations given by the HH is to go back to the KH towards the WWW, so it was like double dipping.

  the GB rely on JW to pay for the literature to the congregation, and I do know that they have stopped posting special orders a brother will go to bethel to pick up orders I know this because I was told by the MS brother, this is in Australia by the way.

  As far as the carts go the congregation pays for it. Also they have in countries now their literature shops with computers to look into JW. org, I guess they are relying on the public for donations. I can see them having hook ups for the meetings and most literature will be down loaded to save money, it would be very expensive to run their pods and with the computer age paper back is going out so they will have to think of some other way to get finances, probably out right tithing wouldn't surprise me and they will have some scripture for it.

  All the exJW utube video makers do a great job, don't think anyone really realised that pdf COC was against the copyright, once they did they tried to make things right.

  Arguing among each other as to the different paths ones take after leaving the WT is futile everyone should respect each others journey and stick with the main picture, helping others to escape the WT false religion, and helping those that have.

  Think their will probably be a change in direction from the top like new light 12 little popes.

  and a lot less witnesses, but they will be around for awhile yet but mainly on the net. Think the witnessing will eventually be done electronically and informally, KH will be hooked up to the GB talks and helpers.

  they will probably bring in tithing and once all the oldies go the blood issue will be gone.

  Just my opinion.

  Elders now ORDERED by the Org to fleece the sheep

  the org is now demanding money from the witnesses, via the latest letter sent to elders regarding the circuit's excess funds.

  succeeded in getting elders everywhere to hand over their own congregation's "excess funds" - now their circuit's bank balances are going to be plundered.. the spineless and subservient elders will cooperate without a whimper, because they're afraid of losing their little bit of power which the org has bestowed upon them.

  GB choices their words wisely, should is guilt trip but not a demand must is a demand, they are very clever when asking for donations.

  They know how to fleece the flock without it looking like they are.
