just had a flashback of my mother forcing me to eat a rotten roast beef sandwich at the district convention.. i remember her telling me jehovah would not provide us with bad food and how ungrateful i was.
she literally told me if i wasted jehovahs provisions she would "slap my face off"..... for the love of god a roast beef sandwich sitting out in the hot yankee stadium sun all day... i really wonder what could cause someone to be so insane.
okay I'll be truthful here, our assembly food was delicious. We would have curries / stews / burgers / sandwiches. There were hundreds of volunteers and we used to get up very early to get the food stuffs done fresh for that day.
Then they did away with the food / drink stalls - no more skipping sessions to volunteer.

you all had some interesting thoughts on that jw memorial thread.
some of you mentioned that you are going so that you can set some sort of example.
i gather that some of you believe that by going and eating, you are somehow showing them they can (or should) do it too.. that really confuses me.
I haven't gone for the past 6 years and won't go this year. I'll never go back again. I left the faith once, I will never every step foot back into a kingdom hall.

i was baptised --1963. left in 1978. fifteen years.
pre-baptism, another 5 years.
Baptised at 16
Left at 29 (but only took me six months to make my mind up and get disfellowshiped)
what do you believe happens when one of jehovah's witnesses dies?
do they go to hell?.
if you do not respond, does it mean that you are only looking to discredit and bash the jw's?.
Jesus is not returning and if you are a JW you believe he came in 1914 - invisibly of course
Death: When JW's, animals, worms, Catholics, Muslims die - they either get buried and decompose or are burned and get scattered. That is is - no hell, no heaven.

Thanks Amelia - yes I read that NGO letter from the UN and it clearly states that organisations that associate with them, even DPI, HAVE TO SUPPORT AND RESPECT THE CHARTER OF THE UN..............
Thus by the Watchtowers association, even DPI, they SUPPORTED AND RESPECTED THE MOST DISGUSTING THING STANDING IN A HOLY PLACE....

on friday the 1st of march, i went to my cousins 21st birthday celebration - she has never been a jw.
my other cousins (twins) were introduced by my mother to the faith over 20 years ago (they are now 38) and got baptised when they were about 19. they both weren't that "strong" in the faith and married "worldly partners" and stopped going to meetings.. they knew i had left and i presumed they knew i was disfellowshipped for apostacy.. at the party the one twin came over to me and we chatted about life etc and she says "oh carl is going to start studying" - i looked at her a little odd and asked what it was as he already had a financial degree.
"no silly, he is going to study the truth" my face must have been a picture and in a very high voiced squeaked why would he ever consider that, he is an intellecutal guy....... she continued about how the people had changed and were so much better than when we were younger.
I think the whole birthday thing is made up - I mean come on guys, we all know how that will invite the demons in
I feel so so sorry for her - pity actually - like she has had the opportunity to do the research, but I know she is too lazy and likes getting doctrine served up on a platter.
I can't stomach that faith! There is absolutley nothing in this world that will make me go back to it.

forty-five years ago i was out in service with an elder, and we came upon a house where the owners kindly received us.
this was not so unusual as the family was jehovah's witnesses.
"Mike" may you have strenght and fortitude in this time ahead. May you be surrounded by loving friends and family. Take each and every opportunity to embrace the goodness in this life. Let those around you know you love them.
