Do You Believe In ANYTHING That The Witnesses Taught At This Point In Your Life?
by minimus infor example, they pride themselves in what they don't believe such as immortal souls, the trinity, hellfire, etc.. some exjws still believe it is the "truth" and support the basics.. .

no nothing! I do not believe in their interpretation of the bible, I do not blieve anything they stood for on education and keeping oneself seperate (for all the wrong reasons) I do not believe in their dress code, their hairstyles, their conditional love.

JWs Lack of Love and Feelings
by jemba ini have noticed the extreme lack of love in this group of people who preach love, love, love.. we recently had serious floods come through our area and the jws couldnt have cared less.
our 'worldly' friends did sooo much for us though.
raising money, giving gifts, cards, accomodation and so much support and hard work.. i personally think jws are one of the most insensitive, uncaring religions around.. three religious groups were absolutely wonderful during the flooding of our area.

Remember it's a conditional love and even then, if you are not in the right clique - forget it.
This was one of the points that I brought up at my JC - That christ said, it was by the love for one another we would identify his diciples and the one elder said that what makes us so different and gods' servants was that we were neutral and thus loved the world -----

Love Ricky Gervais - Loved the part he spoke about Noah and getting the animals into the ark - if you look at it from a logical point of view - you see the fairytale quality straight away - put into one of his comedies and it's halarious.

I called the police.
by LouBelle ini stay at my grandmother's house and pay a little rent to her (r500) as it is all i can afford.
i do however buy and take care of all my own food, washing etc.. this morning at 6 am, my bedroom door opend, slammed shut, heard the key turn a couple of times, open and slam shut again.
i woke up with a fright as that has never happened....first thought is someone is in the house.

by LouBelle ini was studying spanish a little while ago - had to stop because of finances but became friends with the spanish teacher and we keep in touch, see each other now and again.
i just got a message from him:.
"hola louise, i would like to talk to you about 2 things, about the jws, as we are following this fatih, we find it interesting, we haven't been baptised yet, i want to make sure before making a mistake and the other thing that allan and i wold like to talk about is starting your own business.....".

We spent three hours discussing the TTATT. I went in with a very open mind and very careful not to just shout 'run for the hills'. I asked them to tell me what it is they wanted to talk about.
The one guy mentioned that there were a couple of flags, the other wanted to continue until baptism...we chatted about 1914, the generation, 1925, 1975, shunning, the UN, child abuse and so much more. I let them move in whatever direction they wanted and gave them open, honest answers. I kept saying this was my experience. I didn't come across angry or bitter at all. The three big things were the shunning doctrine, the UN, and child abuse. Another big thing was dumbing down of the people and that they all looked like carbon copies.
All in all I think it went very very well. We will be getting togther again and discuss some more.

Hamsterbait - yes you can do a TEFL course to teach english overseas - a lot of the places require you to have some sort of degree to be accepted - a degree in anything but a degree non the less. There are one or two places that don't require it - I am looking into it :)

I'm not so worried about starting my own business bit - though of course interested....What is more worrying is they have been studying with the witnesses.....I have asked him to contact me asap to make arrangements to meet for coffee so we can speak about TTATT - I have 29 years experience in that faith....
A little bit of preparation will be crucial - the most important things to highlight the flaws in this religion (opinions would be awesome)
1) 1914 doctrine
2) generation doctrine
3) 607 doctrine
4) could highlight on 1975 Armegeddon / 1925 resurrection of the saints but they may not even know of that stuff
5) UN scandle - a brief tour on how could the JW be associated with the most disgusting thing in Jahs' eyes....
Anything else would be appreciated.
