It's so much easier to beleive if everything is handed to you on a platter and you don't really have to dig too deeply. But when you truly dig & can take away the publications & just use the bible, that is when their flaws start showing.

sometimes we talk about getting busy with life as a way of getting over the jw experience, but in reading the reconditiong thread it occurred to me to really get over it you need to put a decent amount of energy and work into it.
obviously to do that you have to really focus on it and pay attention to what's going on, which wouldn't be as simple as just going about your merry way and living life.
I'm thinking that 6 billion dead pple is going to make a hellofa lot of bird food. Ah and the poor Witties will be cleaning up as well. Ag shame still working so hard with no rest.
Being DA'ed or DF'ed kinda puts a final stamp on it - it means you are no longer attached, your past is history, nothing to do now than move forward! Esp if you were quite willing to be DA'ed or DF'ed - like me - I say disfellowship me, hurry up and get it over and done with so that I can move ahead without this baggage.
i just saw a few of my old jw buddies as i was driving home from the gym.
i started honking my horn manically and swerved towards them.. they all kinda jumped.
then i waved and gave em a big smile as i zoomed past.

I don't hate them - they are extremely blind to what they do - not many know that they have been fed lies for years on end.
I pity them because they are so closed minded.
I love them because they are people in desperate need of release!
As for the organisation - I dislike the whole concept of organised religion - it gets distorted and the main simple truth of the gospel is totally lost.
I WOULDN'T GO BACK FOR ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD

even now, i still battle with a silly fear of if something might have demons or not...i know it is silly, really, i do, but i haven't been able to get over it completely yet.
does anyone have any suggetions for me?

As I haven't read every single post since that one - What are peoples' belief about satan / demons then - are they out there or are they just figment of our imagination or do we possess that kind of nature??

when i was in a drugstore a couple of months ago, i saw the presiding overseer in the other aisle with his wife.
i saw them and made a conscious decision to leave.
what would you have done in a similar situation??
Nope I make straight for them.
Nothing to be afraid of.
i remember so long ago i thought elders were like a god and would always make sure i smiled at them and put on my innocent act in front of them .
even being out of the cult it took me years to finally get it through my head that they are human and not a god as they themselves think.
then one day a jw elder came to my door and at that time i had a newborn baby that i had been up with all night .
I don't feel anything but I know that they feel very awkward and try avoid you - THAT is funny ' cos I make eye contact and keep walking towards them...wicked!

Okay this thread was to welcome my Mother onto the forum. I'm hoping that she is typing out her story to share with you guys. She's pretty new to the whole forum/chat thing and is trying to find her way around the peeee ceeee.
There was a time that my mother & myself didn't see eye to eye - perhaps because to some degree I was still attached to the JW's and thought I was more self righteous than her, but now it's a blessing to have you by my side mom as we both find our new path. A path that has left indoctrination and fear behind. A path that has freedom as it's foundation.
And am grateful that it's a walk that I don't have to do alone.
