  Have you ever seen/felt/known God's power in YOUR life?

  you spent months,years or even decades as a christian.you sacrificed everything for god,gave him everything you had,you would speak every day for him to others and would live as a person dedicated to god.what did you receive in return after all your efforts?did he help you when you were in need?if yes,are you 100% sure that he was the one who helped you?could you feel his holy spirit in your life?.

  p.s:this topic has nothing to do with the org.

  i am talking exclusively about god and your relationship with him.

  Lady Lee --- thank you for referring me to freeminds --- i will definitely check out.

  I can relate w/your attitude of taking care of things yourself as hard as i try to have faith in God. If nothing else, evil parents help me think there's a satan involved or has power in this world --- but then tell myself they don't need any assistance from satan as heartless as the toxic ones are/were.

  Hope you finish your autobiography --- what's the psychology trick ---- to work on something 5 to 15 min. a day. i only have about 100 projects to work on 15 minutes a day which i never do, but it helped my friend complete her children's book --- Homer the Helicopter, or some title like that.

  YES, DO TELL. YOU WERE MY FAVORITE POSTER ON H20 YRS. AGO when i had time to peek on there -- and i'd look so forward to reading what you'd say and your prognostications for the tower. your name became a household name because i was always relaying to my husband what you'd posted --- he thinks you are REALLY smart along w/many others on this site.

  hypothetical scenario.

  you are a city manager in a major metropolitan city with a population of 3,000,000.. .

  if the governing body was truly convinced themselves of the impending disaster and the fact that the end is imminent would they not focus their efforts in spreading the message through effective means such as telephone, television, internet, social networks etc?

  I had only attended a couple of meetings and for the life of me could not figure out WHY they didn't take out ads in the newspaper and use the media if the end was so close and people would die w/out hearing. didn't realize the door to door at the time was such a waste of time and assumed they must know what they're doing --- NOT!!!

  in another post, a dear one mentioned that a jw relative ceased being... ummmm... contentious, when the dear one told her that, after praying about it, they were allowing themselves "to be guided by holy spirit and not doctrine from a man-made organization.

  " that the latter felt "wrong.

  AGuest --- the one above in his post, 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 --- specifically, 3:17 about freedom in christ. i'm thinking it means where the JW religion (like Stephen indicates at bottom of his post) shuts out the kingdom but in the Christ there is freedom. Appreciate your comments.

  Stephen: so according to 2 Corinthians 3:17 where the spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM --- this means no religion necessary? the scripture about continuing to associate together and build one another up, etc., was for that time period? not that i want to join a religion but curious. wouldn't know where to start searching for the "true" religion and that never made sense to me w/the hundreds, thousands, whatever, out there.

  I find it very hard to believe in a god

  so for now, i chose not to believe in anything but myself and love.

  i was going to post a 'welcome' message for all the new people who may have got a computer for christmas and are making their first forray into the online world.. of course, not many jws are going to be getting a computer or much else for christmas right?.

  kinda-strange for me to forget about such a big thing like that eh?!

  it's pretty good though to have moved on so that the jw indoctrinated mindset isn't the first thing that springs to mind.. hope you're all having a great christmas and wherever you are in the recovery process that you feel a little bit better today than you did yesterday, more free and relaxed than you did last year and looking forward to your new life in 2011.. there's going to be lots of changes coming for this site hopefully in the next week or so and probably continuing over the next year.
