  when i was in the org it seemed most brothers were very much into football and other sports.

  which looking back makes no sense and makes me wonder why?

  it felt like an overcompensating to be masculine.. shouldn't football be deemed unchristian?

  moonmanchu - laughing thinking about that movie but 37 YRS old -- almost 4 decades. Thx for sharing the clips -- I'll look for it and watch this T-Giving season. One of my fave, really old, movies, 'Can't Take It With You,' is played over the holiday season and I have to watch - missed it last yr. What a great attitude for an old man (Lionel Barrymore - it's that old of movie!).

  Reminds me of the Will of the rich uncle declaring, 'being of sound mind I spent all my money while I was alive," and forget about the rest.

  -- sorry, misread -- you own the movie. Funny story -- yrs after it was released I had a fill-in housekeeper working one Saturday and the Vet dropped by to give the dog a needed injection. We were chatting at front entrance area and he mentioned housekeeper's auto reminded him of the one in that movie -- he was being serious (it was a resemblance - couple doors missing, etc.) but I couldn't stop laughing. Can't believe she had insurance coverage and was allowed to drive on roads. Oh my.

  moomanchu/that's an old clip but funny and all I can see in my head is the automobile -- oh my.

  Ahh the best, Walter Payton (#? I forget too lazy to look up) and Joe Montana. GO Niners❤️ and the Levi's Stadium. Not really into football but small doses fun. Footballers are or were said to be the most conditioned athletes - would seem boxers would be.

  i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.

  practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.

  now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.

  think about it: they had to go out and buy halloween paraphernalia, then apply makeup & costumes to dress the 'brothers & sisters' up as vampires, witches, mummies etc.

  and you know they were probably joking around the whole time.

  what a bunch of hypocrites, the last gen gb would be turning in their graves to see such a photoshoot at the 'house of god' 😆.

  he will not pressure her to engage in sexual acts that make her feel uncomfortable, that are demeaning, or that bother her conscience..... the bible does not provide details as to what sexual practices between a husband and a wife should be considered clean or unclean.

  a christian couple must make decisions that reflect their resolve to honor jehovah, to please each other, and to maintain a clean conscience.

  generally speaking, a couple would not discuss with others this intimate aspect of their marriage..

  i am dismayed how jwn is being "dominated" or taken over by a few posters, peppering the comments.

  in the past, the admin did not approve of this and did remove some posters from jwn.

  What made you look behind the jw curtain?

  i was listening to a lunchtime call in radio show about jws and the personal experiences of being disfellowshiped, and a former elder called in saying he was disfellowshiped for asking about jws and their involvement in the un in the 1990s ,and he just said look it up.. thinking that it was a made up lie ,so i looked it up and it was true even a letter confirming it from the un itself and that led me here and to jwfacts and further research into the history and teachings of jw and walked out the door about 5 years ago.

  stan livedeath -- reminds me of a call out in service a householder (male) mentioned he used to be a JW and I, being a neophyte, asked him what about now. He chuckled said he just got bored with it. He was kind and said return whenever you want.🤣 I'll never forget -- at time I couldn't imagine anyone having time to become 'bored' w/all the meetings, reading material, etc.

  Thanks, stan livedeath. There's many and finally found the one linked (Chicago concert) that miraculously disappeared. It's better than Costa Mesa (Pacific Beach, Cali) concert. I'll check your link out! Appreciate. Wow --is Steve Miller old and working on new album.

  but is there an explanation for this phenomenon that doesn’t rely on supernatural intervention?

  new testament scholar james dunn explains the difficulty of interpreting the biblical texts in this way:.

  Was the non-trinity belief handed down to JWs (Russell) via 2nd Day Adventism/England? I've no issue with it but curious. Seventh Day Adventists now promote the trinity but not always the case.
