  International convention Utrecht this weekend

  in an earlier posting gorby wrote about attending the international convention in utrecht this weekend, to keep the family happy and make some observations.. guests were gb member jackson and his assistent van der zande, a dutch helper of the gb.. 42.000+ attenders and +/- 250 baptisers.. the convention theme about "love" was not bad at all, from a christian viewpoint.. jackson and van der zande made a good presentation with humor.. the colorfull witness from arround the word were nice and nice to see.. typical witness doctrine about 1914, king of the north, being obient when your kingdom hall will be sold etcetera were hard to listen to.. but the love theme was not bad, and sometimes oké.. i see a transformation to an evangelical kind of tv church.. ifthe typical jw doctrine about years, endtime, education, blood and armageddon would be downplayed, gorby could see some positive side of jw-ism.. mainpoint is that jw try to show love but on a forced base, because they are told to do so.. but, not a bad convention, and a good, humble part of jackson and van der zande, did not expect this.. i write some positive because it is, what it is.. see your opinion.. gorby.

  i've been paying very close attention to talks ever since waking up.

  i probably pay more attention now than i ever did while i was sleeping.

  anyway, i think there are a lot of brothers who are awake, and they try their best to go against the grain while up on that stage.

  Hahahahaha -- I like your reference about "while I was sleeping" and not "contemplating suicide the entire time."

  Those talks don't sound like the cult's normal -- are you sure they're not trying to sneak in some lines to look appealing or like a normal, mainstream, safe, religion. No, that wouldn't be possible. Maybe the cancellation of a few big venues has them concerned - nothing seems to work or help them nor do they care to be user friendly.

  These shootings have been going on for a very long time -- who was to blame back then? Other than mentally ill disturbed people you can't go off blaming whoever fits your agenda. Get the facts. Young men/student issues going back to 1999 - it's becoming worse with these young people.

  The Dem party has been screaming racism as they're MO card for decades -- they're notorious for this -- it can't be good for society. They need to work as professionals (the professional politicians they are after decades) and resolve the illegal immigration problem - change the laws or follow the laws.

  Mental health care in this country is critical -- take a look at the homeless population and the crimes.

  I'm not a gun person and can't understand why these very young men are so mentally deranged. How are they slipping through the system and need such mental health. Dayton criminal shot and killed his own sister and innocent people.

  Golfing - the man works 24/7 with no sleep (trying to correct all the status vacays of the slugs in office the previous decades!) and we know he'd be available to protect our country and it's best (military) if he receives a call in the middle of the night. Obama/Ole Hil asleep again -- too tired and couldn't care less.

  Does anyone remember the ex-bethelite member, Randy - I think he was friends with Ray Franz and a member yrs. ago on H20, etc., too. He did a series of JW stories/beyond Hillbillies. It would be great to have those and I'm sure he'd share. Laughing so hard tears would stream down my face - I can't recall what he called them but so funny.

  Watchtower is a criminal organization -- why isn't this info on one of the TV shows and maybe it has been but they're so few and far between because it's such an insignificant, horrifying, cult.

  It's unimaginable the suffering they've caused people.
