i was out thrift shopping where my sister lives.
before i went in to the store, i went to donut shop a few doors down.
as i walked up, there by the window was a family and others eating donuts.
Maybe that's true for younger generation. I think the castle/location/hood is still #1 in US or how many vacay homes one owns. Many people pay a chunk for a car and drive for years and could care less and are affluent/can afford to flip for new models any time. I think it depends on age, too, and how attached they are to the car. I have friends who've been driving the same car for years - one friend wrecked her car, cried her eyes out when ins. said it was totaled (hardly anything wrong with it) and hunted down the same exact model/color as her older one and her husband fought ins. co to repair her original she wrecked. Some weird business practices out there or they like to grab up luxury, mint-condition, cars.

The behavior of the liberals is nothing new but more of the same duplicitous, evil, but has intensified -- if that's possible after Obama/Ole Hil. They clearly will go down in history as the most corrupt in US politics and why many fled their party. We will see how many return to the Dem party for the 2020 election and how many illegal votes (deceased/illegals/repetitive voting, prison inflating) or internet corruption skews the election this time. Never a shortage of news these days.

After 8 yrs. of Obama/Clinton I think the facts reveal otherwise -- stay tuned. Dems have used the same outline (lie&destroy) for time indefinite. Same motto: The end justifies the means. I bet the people making comments re/Trump paraphernalia being offensive/divisive, etc., etc., certainly wouldn't feel the same way or make same comments if their beloved liberals were in office.

a letter obtained by inq has shed light on the secretive methods the jehovah's witnesses are undertaking to erase the impact of child sexual abuse within the sect.. by georgia wilkins sept 10, 2019. a body representing the jehovah’s witnesses in australia has written to all elders of the group ordering them to destroy confidential records, including notes taken by elders investigating child sexual abuse, in an instruction that has enraged survivors of abuse inside the secretive christian sect.. in a letter obtained by inq, dated august 28, a body called the christian congregation of jehovah’s witnesses (australasia) instructs elders to destroy so-called judicial hearing records and certain congregation notes.. “we ask that each elder check his personal computer, or hard copy files, and even his meeting bag, to ensure that no confidential correspondence is retained outside the congregation’s confidential file,” the letter states.
it also directs elders to destroy information aired against so-called “wrongdoers”: “if this ‘wild talk’ is recorded in detail, it may not be accurately assessed when reviewed out of context,” it says.
I would hope there are court orders/"legal requirements" against doing this. How can they skate around this. I haven't had time to read link yet.

I recall reading years ago devout, poor, JWs, were living in their cars, freezing in the winter (if that good) supporting this charlatan -- clueless about it all. Just wrong.
I think JWs want their leaders to look good and represent them well - or that was my opinion decades ago. I heard a couple of JWs refer to all the Crooklyn properties as success, "who wouldn't be impressed with all that," when pointing out in one of the publications (hard-bound book) a photo of the cult's buildings. They were proud of all the real estate and thought it would prove the religion is so big in NY and truth, I guess. Sure shocked me -- I thought they were a poor religion - NOPE!
