Where do members of the Governing Body and their wives Live ? Not their actual addresses of course. however ?..........

i`m just curious about the lifestyle they themselves are enjoying compared to the millions of followers they have in the jw religion.do any of the gb members have private homes that they own and live in ?

or do they and their wives live in a communal arrangement .?

if they do have private homes they own and live in what type of suburb/area do they live in ?

Their digs can't be too shabby - someone reported each member/spouse has the privilege of working w/the country's most renown interior designers re/ordering furnishings and decor. I have a feeling their apartments aren't quite the same as the bethelites -- maybe years ago when they were in amassing wealth/real estate mode and staying under the radar. They're the upper echelon of one of Forbes top cos -- or were and I doubt they're on a budget.

LongHair - free rent for sure along with all the other amenities - they must have nice balconies for their lakeside views - so much for nickel plants being toxic! Free alcohol, Rolexes to Thor knows what. I'm sure their attire is very expensive. They did have an airplane that was for fishing runs so they must have (or had) a shack tucked away in the wilders -- who knows what else.

The Holidays Are No Big Deal Anymore

you used to hear christmas music blaring on every radio station.

people used to jam the roadways and malls to do their christmas shopping and now it’s no big deal.

Spoke too soon - more houses just went roadkill decorating (spectacular xmas lighting/ornaments/xmas objects) - late in the season this year for a couple of residences but they've indicated all year they're so slammed with the great economy (2nd/3rd generation business owners and 2 younger families/new businesses - amazing!) they can't keep up.

Malls so busy here. We have a strip full of malls, the high end - we were rated second-best shopping in world behind Rome, Italy, before the country's recession/Obama depression here and Carter/liberal triple digit inflation housing horror that crippled latter part of the Bush term - in addition to normal malls of most cities. You can't find a parking space - always the case around here/any holiday. This has been going on for month of December. Local restaurants packed. Plenty of clerks and extra checkouts. Fed Ex/UPS trucks taking up roadways - it's an awesome economy and people are traveling, spending money and living the good life again.

Capitalism at its best!

i do like the usa but winters suck!

florida has some charm but it gets brutal with heat and humidity.

california is too looney.

NV - perfect weather except for few summer mos. Cali and Utah few hrs. away to cool down -- even few areas in oven-hot Arizona (few minutes outside Flagstaff) have cooler areas in summer -- not Phoenix! Cali is "looney" but my home country. Hope it improves but it is very concerning.

I think if I relocate from Cali I'd like to live part time in Seattle - I love it and it's not as "looney" as California -- almost -- but nice cosmopolitan city w/great food/shopping/rain - lots of water all around. Nice lifestyle - everything in walking distance.

Do You Think Prostitution Should Be Decriminalized?

in the us there is a bill in the house of representatives to decriminalize prostitution.

what do you think about that?.

Many are into weekend prostitution and fly in and out of Vegas returning to their home states and careers on Sunday night - hard to believe but it's true. This is nothing new - don't know how it could be decriminalized.

Upon learning of a terminal illness would you return to being a JW to appease your family?

this is an hypothetical question...i am doing well.

but i was thinking about how my jw family, grandchildren and all will feel when their inactive grandfather dies with no hope of being reunited in paradise.

of course there would be immediate rejoicing if i came back to the "truth" and a surge of conditional love from the "friends".

NOPE, never! Heard of a husband who attended few yrs. ago with his wife when her cancer had reached terminal stage. There was, of course, negative JW chatter how he was only there for her and had no intention of ever being a JW.

It's a beautiful season but I'm counting the days to resume normal life -- it's time consuming but enjoyable. I've noticed some neighbors' homes aren't as glitzed up as in the past but they're probably cutting back due to busy-ness/age, travel to visit family, etc., and dealing with workmen/lighting cos, etc., decorating, time consuming - or did too much last year! It's a lot unless you're under 50!
