just saw this on the news tonight.

england has come up with a covid vaccine at the oxford university.

india wants to start using it in a couple of months.

The anti-Trump people are negatively undermining HCL (Hydroxychloroquine) but couple of renown physicians (and many others) have prescribed it for years including cardiologist group and now for their COVID 19 patients with success - no heart problems at all nor monitoring of any type. The Veteran study was sloppy work and NY's clinical study not accurate/trustworthy. Physician at a TX nursing facility prescribed to all the elderly residents (many underlying health issues) and had excellent results - only lost one patient and it wasn't heart related. There's problems with the big pharm cos and low price of HCL not fitting their agenda. It's saving lives but with the war of the parties going on you would never know it. HCL has four properties that work against COVID 19 but needs to be administered early in the diagnostic phase of COVID 19 or given prophylactically. Workers at a NY hospital are taking it to prevent contacting the virus.

What a hot mess w/the political fear mongering as youtube continues to remove opposing views/facts from physicians and virologists. Follow the money/political corruption.

the 1983 film educating rita, written by willy russell and starring michael caine and julie walters, is one of the finest stories ever told.

julie's character is the eponymous working class hairdresser and michael caine plays professor frank bryant her open university tutor assigned, against his will, to teach her english literature.

the dialogue is brilliant and funny but it is the dilemma of an awakening rita caught between two worlds that is deeply moving.

What a great movie Educating Rita was and analogy/observation re/dropping WT for seizing one's life -- love Michael Caine. With all this COVID 19 stress a pub like that is looking pretty darn good no matter which world/lol.

I read few yrs. ago there's only two (2) effective vaccines to date and one is for polio and the other small pox. Not too faith inspiring.

Clinical trials for vaccine are already in process so we can hope something flies and the sooner the better. Can't count on it and certainly need anti-viral drugs better than Remdesivir being 81% effective. Need meds that are prescribed on an out-patient basis short of people being vented/half dead. This is crazy - hospitals receiving huge payouts via Medicare if victims are ventilated and then - with any luck at all - one is prescribed a chemical. The political FDA has a greed problem (they're quite political) re/Hydroxychloroquine.

The most vulnerable were NOT protected in the US but in fact much the opposite in NY, NV (not sure of California) and New Jersey and possibly Illinois. Of course everyone else was under house arrest except a few states that used common sense. Cuomo doesn't know what he's doing, as usual. He's an unqualified, unethical, governor, and because of his ineptness caused the deaths of 1,700 elderly people in facilities. Who knows - probably more. He did change his stupid rule of returning/allowing the COVID 19 ill seniors to be readmitted to the senior living facilities. What a buffoon he is.

so after much research, i'm convinced that my dad and both my older brothers have aspergers.

they can come across as jerks at times especially when their guard is down.

however, they can hide it extremely well when they want to, with pointed effort.

Texas medical professionals having issues prescribing the life-saving meds - I'm shocked. I know there's five (5) loon states (or were) and NV and California for sure but thought the governor of TX was allowing it. This is crazy.

Sea Breeze - doctors in NV are suing the governor here. Meds can be used but not on an out-patient basis and the most effective one, Hydroxychloroquine, needs to be prescribed immediately to COVID 19 victims. One has to be close to death and on a vent w/the hospital receiving mega bucks from Medicare to be prescribed Hydroxychloroquine. It's an ugly situation. Many are on twitter re/the governor who apparently hoarded the hydroxychloroquine and is allowing the prisoners to be treated with. His health expert isn't even licensed - or so i've read. Haven't confirmed. He tried to close down the gun stores several wks. ago but lawyers jumped right on it and he didn't have the law on his side to do that - fortunately. There's no law on his side or the states re/his banning the hydroxychloroquine - I might not understand how that works but I'm glad the medical community is standing up and filed lawsuit(s) to the stasi here.

People fleeing California - and there were many before COVID 19 - are considering Utah rather than NV now. Going to be tough on tourists if they get sick here - no outpatient meds. This is not good. Go on twitter and check out Sisolak - Hydroxychloroquine - it's unreal.

Yeah - if you die from the hiccups it's documented as Covid 19 and the medical/coroners are confirming same. Politics on all levels in full force now although citizens followed the rules to flatten curve as they were told. It's so scary people are afraid to go to the ER at hospital afraid they'll be diagnosed with COVID if they have a cold. My husband had a red eye - I was rattled it was the fear mongering conjunctivitis eye that possibly could be COVID 19. Having received so many horror calls from clients - businesses, COVID fear - elderly ones passing on hospice care and not having COVID it was like dragging little kid to doctor - wasn't happenin'! Eye specialists just reopening and finally taking ER appointments, praise the gawds! This is crazy and this was minor and not COVID related per specialist.

Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

I think they've got the JWs afraid of their shadow with COVID to go beyond their back door. JWs will jump with glee to return to the halls once COVID dies out and consider it a special blessing from their private god. I can't imagine them wavering on their WT fantasy faith wagon - at least the elderly but I'm not around elderly JWs to know.

Where's the proof that meetings are being cut down/reduced? With zoom they can hound the JWs daily for more halls (goon squad's real estate monopoly money). Last we heard they were keeping the JWs busy, all dressed up and tuned into zoom.
