I can't imagine the aged JWs not sending in their checks to the elders/headquarters to maintain their beloved religion - probably extra to make up for the shortages. They'll keep the faith and pay no matter.

Emergency COVID Ration Spam Fritters

they say that spam doesn't have a shelf-life, it has a half-life, but i kind of wanted to see if it was like i remembered as a kid.. as it turns out spam fritters are as delicious as i remember, probably better ('cause i did fancy ones).
i used this recipe and they were glorious.

My beloved Grandfather loved spam - I still recall those "tin" cans and they had their own fresh butchered beef/poultry and meat locker. He loved spam heated in a frying pan. Meat section in stores shaky here but the independent butcher shop had plenty but long wait in line. I'm stocking up on my fave hand sanitizers if it's ever available! I'm tired of the weird ones. I love the Walgreens'/Walmart brand.
You've jogged my memory - I was checking out chest freezers few mos ago and quite a long-wait list. I called the appliance store and asked about 'deep freezer' and he didn't know what I was referring to - they were called that yrs ago in the wild west. Sure takes a lot of space to stock pile all this stuff.

e_louise - you should have been out west. The Black family my child and I were very good friends with always raved how they were treated like royalty because they were the minority in this city. Same in so cal - they had left their loving, protestant, church, for the "truth!" The wife told me they rolled out the red carpet treatment for she and sister/mother. She raised a nice young lady and son - good people, honor students. She was quite outspoken and didn't take much crazy - she opened my eyes to a lot of dynamics inside those hall walls and clicks.
Maybe it's the city - I've been told by more than one black they love it here and appreciate they've great jobs/ins benefits -- capitalism at it's best -- or was! The state wasn't a welfare state until about 10 yrs. ago.

The "White Privilege" is a joke! How many yrs. have the white privileged worked like slaves w/most families living hand to mouth paying taxes they couldn't afford to feed/provide housing for others. Take a stroll back to the 50s/60s - forward! Quite a successful game plan/agenda by a political party enriching themselves and holding black race hostage.
So many white privileged working more than one job (decades) to provide for their families and pay for their children's education. Hard to qualify for loans/help because wrong race and worked - scraped by - no handouts. White women receiving no child support - no help from government or anyone else - after all, wrong race and it would have not been socially correct. Of course, college loan issue/welfare changed to the point the work ethic has dramatically suffered. Some real issues.

JW.ORG delivering food to JWs in California
by NikL inso a couple of weeks ago my wife (who is an active jw) got a delivery of apples, oranges, potatoes, carrots and onions.. the story i heard was that the "branch bought a bunch of food that would go to waste and was delivering it".. i am in california and a friend of mine in another cong.
50 or so miles away had the same thing happen.. a few days ago we got another delivery and as a matter of fact my wife was asked if she could "help jehovah with delivering his gifts".
unfortunately she is in poor health and unable to so so.. anyway, the story seems fabricated to me and i am wondering what is really going on.. does anybody have any ideas?

If it's legitimately from the WT that's different and I'm sure the gov't is giving away to religions/churches - sounds like everyone.
Obviously you know USDA (503c rules) and I don't care who they provide food to. No one should be starving w/all the AG in this country. Has to be handouts costing the cult nothing for them to share. All paid for by the taxpayer - nothing is free but it appears that way to many.
Good ole worldly people providing for the cult like always but they sneer at helping/contributing/reciprocating Satan's world. Good to know their poor adherents are being fed. The cult is a leech.
