by RubaDub inafter further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.
you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.
would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

I’m Seeing Some Trump Fatigue Out There

another person said she hears from her clients in her business that the constant drama and push back from all sides against trump is fatiguing.. i remind people that before this worldwide pandemic, we had the best numbers in jobs.

I drive through a beautiful mountain range in calif and ugly windmills standing up ruining the view. The Kennedys certainly didn't allow nor want them visible from any angle from their estates - who would!

if the apostle paul was right in saying that the righteous on death would be changed in the twinkling of an eye from earthly life to heavenly glory why would there be a future resurrection needed for the righteous?

johnamos - Ridgecrest is very close to so cal - not much over an hr. drive and so cal has these shakers daily. I'm not undermining 5.8 but after Mexico's quake not so unusual since these are common occurrences in area. Were there not quakes or geisers spewing wild in Yellowstone lately - something going on? I recall photos 2 or so wks. ago. Many geologists/seismologists/scientists stay on top of that situation.

JW Response to COVID
by optimisticskeptic ini haven't been on here in quite some time so i apologize if i missed a similar thread already (i did look for one :) ) anyways, just to be clear i think the jw response to covid in general has been really positive and proactive and they've done really well trying to educate people on covid, doing zoom meetings, etc to prevent spread within the congregations.
the part that i find interesting is how compliant and non-apocalyptic the branch has been during all of this.
even as someone who's a bit of a skeptic i found myself wondering if this might be the beginning of the end between covid, economic upheaval, and blm.

So many JWs out of work and nothing but time to 'dulge around with Zoom and thank gawd for the extra pay they're receiving through +unemployment. Oodles of free grub being handed out via AG dept/food banks. They must 'think' they're in Paradise not racing around to the cult's demanding schedule - not good if they're still dressing up!
I think some JWs without good secular jobs have it harder right now - many people are afraid to have housekeepers/handimen/window cleaning in their homes during COVID but they should receive state aid - Medicaid benefits or welfare assistance which is probably hiked up.

A lot of the testing are results of the under 35-40 age group out socializing/clubbing and not social distancing or wearing masks. They've been cooped up for mos and are celebrating tad too much. Fauci already told them online dating/sex was okay -- unimaginable!
I'm told the younger generation today has a totally different lifestyle compared to a decade ago.

Yeah - with mail in ballots Ole Hil/Horndog Bill could win but Dems WANT/HAVE TO HAVE ravaged-brain Biden. She doesn't need to win as Pressie - she and Obama are behind the curtain and not certain she's involved like he is - best they leave her on Zoom/Twitter since they can't keep her standing. DEMS will let the Chicago-style corrupt politician Obama run the show along with the deep state.
All will be fine - everyone will have socialized medicine (I'm not against everyone having health coverage but Obama Care certainly didn't cut it for poor people - they couldn't dig up thousands for surgery) and we'll all watch Venezuela 2. We've all witnessed blue states short supply of health care PPE materials and vents - they can't run anything and have been dependent on the fed government - they can't manage money no matter how much they tax the working class slaves.
