by life is to short inomg i just heard this morning that they have a table set up at the local walmart, so i had to drive by.
it is huge with two huge signs one spanish and one english of blown up pictures of some of the book covers like you can live forever and young people ask, etc with a card table in the middle and two very boarded looking people just sitting there.
this morning was the spanish congo's turn but the walmart is in my halls territory so the english speaking ones from my hall will man it on the english speaking times i guess.

Love SA's posts and how he mentions "standing in the broad ways" because i'm sitting here thinking they might hand someone a magazine that reminds them not to lie or cheat someone, which might help them, and SA's quote sets me straight. Where did you get all of your Bible knowledge. It obviously wasn't from the hall.

Convention Attendance
by LV101 ini've heard the attendance isn't so great --- a lot of room and you aren't cramped for seating like in previous years.
the economy has definitely hurt the numbers, but do you think it's because of the internet/information.
i've read on this board that the assemblies and conventions are cash cows for the org and probably missed the discussions that already transpired regarding their profits this summer.

Isn't going to Law School a no-no?
by Chaserious ini was reading some education-related threads on here and i'm curious about something.
i haven't been out too long, and while i was in, i was farsighted enough to get my college degree part-time at night.
i kind of knew i'd be out someday and would need it... anyway, since i've been out, i've been going to law school.

an ex-bethelite told me (about 1991) that the society had picked up the remaining lawschool tuition (couple of yrs., each person) for a couple of young people who HAD ALREADY STARTED LAWSCHOOL when they came into the truth (recruited). they, of course, had to promise to join the legal team at bethel upon graduation.
another witness told me (very reliable source) the society invited a lawyer and his wife (already witnesses) to serve at bethel and they PAID OFF ALL OF THEIR bills, mortgage and obligations, etc., in order for him to join the bethel team. also, that when a witness has left a sizable estate to the TOWER --- the w/tower sends their lawyers in ASAP to wrap up the deal.

Have you checked out Joyce Meyer's Bible, (Amplified Version --- The Everyday Bible). She has a totally different interpretation of the "Kingdom." she says the "Kingdom" is doing God's will and receiving his blessings and care NOW. NOTHING about a paradise earth kingdom.

5th generation gets my vote --- i agree!!! i joined (not a born in) and i was jobbed, snobbed, robbed, literally hated. the losers were civil and almost human when they were looking for a handout or wanted a gift (wedding, baby shower, whatever).
it wasn't the men that were so envious and jealous, but the monster females --- but i'm a female so i'm sure it works the same for males!!!!
