A billion dollar investment company is pulling out of Seattle - Smead indicated they no longer want to be 'sleepless in Seattle' and are heading for Arizona which will offer a better cost of living and lifestyle. They are unsure what the business community will return to. Goodness - all the people that have beautiful homes in the high-rises need businesses. I heard business owners in Santa Monica, Calif. saying the same thing.
I saw a businessman in Seattle few nights ago with a moving van - he said businesses/owners can't deal with it and are moving out. How can the mayor allow this to happen. Are the residents so liberal they don't care! My friend seldom drives but walks or takes bus to the ferry to go over to Bainbridge - so picturesque. I love downtown Seattle - looked at a condo to buy about 3 blocks from where all this is going on - I'll wait and see what my friend does but her adult children live in Seattle area so doubt she'll pick up and give up her summer place although she's staying grounded here now. Heard thugs were telling the "rich" people above the 5th floors to jump out of their buildings -- how darn scary. Thought my beloved Cali was crazy enough.
