It's beyond crazy -- few mos ago general contractors building mammoth sized homes here couldn't get all the building supplies together. Even plumbing items could not be located/purchased. Plus the severe labor shortage is pathetic.

I was shocked at JW hygiene while attending local 2-day event at public domain -- can't recall what they were called. The stench so bad I had to move to different seat and 3-4 of us in group were separated due to limited seating -- crazy.
Soap/water -- a beautiful thing. WT clergy class needs to encourage their adherents to shower/bathe on a regular basis -- perfume isn't the answer! 'It Does the Body Good' and 'Just Do It'.

U.S. Announcement at CLAM w/o March 3 - Donation of Trailers Needed
by JWTom inat our clam meeting this past week there was a rather lengthy announcement asking for the donation of travel trailers.
needed to be at least 22 feet long and not older than a 2005 model year.
lots of other details were in the announcement about what was desired related condition of the trailer, etc.

In the assisted living/memory care facilities they really conserve water and claim residents shower 3 Xs/wk which is short 4 days. They charge more for assisted/extra showering to those that need help -- money well spent.
I've heard people say their dermatologists advise they shower every other day because soaps are drying -- unreal! Water is a natural moisturizer so maybe they need to rinse the soap off a tad bit longer so they can resume showering daily.

Dancing Cockatoo, Living His Best Life, a Lesson For All of Us
by Simon inso this is a sad story, i believe the cockatoo was neglected after his owner died (relatives just kept it locked up and the cage covered) so it plucked its feathers.

I did have few returns but trunk loads purchased to try at home - some JWs one would hope to remain associates with for life if they were still around. I do understand the cult makes it very difficult but I had no issues with some.

Sure - only couple situations in past yrs. If they make effort I do same but keep it very limited. Seldom see any of the ones I was familiar with although I was around limited time thus knew fewer JWs - I know the situation is much more difficult for born-ins and those in decades. Some employed at mall I shopped at that expected to make commissions off of me regardless of my cult affiliation once I was long gone. I had my regular sales associates for years. Couple of toxic JWs in my fave stores but not sure they're around now. I tried to be cautious - kept my distance and preferred the polite, mannered, sales, associates. On good terms w/couple of ex-witnesses who are department heads.
I have to admit there was one JW who I used exclusively -- one very trustworthy, ethical, beautiful, human, being -- I could trust her to credit my account no matter the amount. She was quite aware how I felt about the religion. Drop off - race on to next errand -- never had to wait for her to do transaction, worry/question anything. She was above the cut - I've a black-belt in shopping and I can write a book!
