Punk - my mother was gaga over him per my older cousins. Gads this town -- one of the decent steakhouses has his ugly booth. At least 2 couples always play his horrible music if entertaining and will ask what music I like/listen to and before I can reply they ask, "Sinatra!" I have to be nice -- even a Sinatra station on the Sirius radio station - gag me! Only station they listen to. Even the wife who is my age is brainwashed.

Missed the Rolling Stones concert couple wks. ago here -- Jagger is pictured jumping. Hope he lives to return and jump. They're amazing.

We had a few who 'thought' they were gifted vocalists. Apparently, one was a voice instructor who left area and another couple others were professional. One was from a family of talented folk and another one told me she grew up singing as a child at Radio City -- she had strong voice and could harmonize to block out some of the noise. The entire family 'thought' they were professional level but chose to be JWs, etc., etc. Their father could have been one of the world's greatest musicians, of course. Surely it would have been recognized having been musician for decades!! Eric Clapton was proclaimed world's greatest acoustic (?) guitarist at like age 18, whatever. Unreal the JW power egos.

If I have to hear about Sinatra - between older friends (really old friends🤪) and JWs ever again I'll shoot myself! Ok - he had a decent voice range but he wasn't that unique. I won't even go to a restaurant called Sinatra (Encore/Wynn) and I love Italian food.

LH Gal - you are bullseye perfect. The elder pimps were always hitting me up for a lazy pioneer and her con-artist husband who had at least 5 degrees (pathological liar) who also lived off his mommy. The disadvantaged people in the cult were never helped and weren't in the in-crowd. It was 'splained the nucleus (the in-crowd gang) was the spiritual strength of the congregation - made me ill.

There were some very kind, decent, elders (from what I could tell) that did not do this and weren't in agreement to subsidizing these bums -- or so I heard.

Balaamsass2 - you and 3rd gen would be amazed at the green lawns in NV. We have snow-covered mountains - check out Mt. Charleston which is only about a 30-minute drive from LV. It's not going to look like Mammoth but the mountain ranges surrounding the valley are gorgeous but I love the desert - and the amazing blue ocean so I understand. I have withdrawals every time I leave it. Arizona is so beautiful - wish the saguaros thrived here like there - a few have.

I think LV is one of the more expensive cities to live now -- I only skimmed the headlines could be fake. Everything is trucked in so that might be part of the problem.

waton -- orcas, eh? Thx for the correction and hopefully I won't forget.🤪 Guess I didn't learn much on all those catamaran trips!! I was so afraid of going on the ocean in such a small boat but once out a few miles from the shore -- the tranquility and sea life is amazing. People racing up and down Pacific Coast Hwy. have no idea what's a few miles from the road in the beautiful water.

Yes -- many thanks for giving the country Polident Pelosi. I use to go to more conservative parts of Cali and my life-long friends/family would harass me re/Nevada's Harry Reid and what on earth has the state turned into. It was old Dems in the dark ages (so I'm told) but then became more conservative -- how I don't know with the Jewish population controlling the LV strip (dynamics changed now I hear) but Cali seems to be running NV now. It's probably more liberal now but with rigged elections who would know.

The East coast/midwest (everywhere) and Cali flee/retire here (anywhere they're tired of freezing) and bring their politics with them. The Dem politicians are financed via the liberals out of Cali - serious fund raisers. They know how to win.

They've been fleeing to Nevada for quite a few years but its so bad past couple of yrs. there's a housing shortage. Realtors begging for homes to sell. Real estate prices over the top and rising.

I've friends In cal - various parts - and they'd never leave but they're older now and love their homes, friends, etc. Unfortunately, California has that magnificent Pacific blue ocean and it would be difficult. Residents here flee to California during the summer heat. It's becoming less attractive to me with all the crime - afraid to walk down the street alone from a condo is ridiculous.
