i find this to be the case, people in general are so not interested in religion that they really could care less about jws.

carla -- same type of response I get from people. I don't broadcast info about any family being members -- too embarrassing but some in the extended clan know and I have to hear how it's such a cult and, of course, they feel all righteous and exuberant re/their chosen brand of worship. The ones who've become Catholics love to expound on topic of history (the oldest religion gag me) and the evangelicals/born-agains, etc., are certain they're in the chosen religion of what's happenin' now, I guess. For church goers they're not too concerned about the 'do not judge' scripture but maybe I have that one all wrong.

I do admit I'm guilty of judging JW religion myself and not too impressed with a couple others I have to hear about but I don't make remarks in public.

I've a question for you knowledgeable ones -- SBF, Vanden, Earnest, Fisherman, Scholar, asqwsed -- too many to list - I blathered off a scripture from one of the recent biblical topics past couple of wks to friend who recently returned to meetings and my eyes (and loss of sleep) can't search any longer for it. It may have been 1 John 4:7? but more descriptive, modern, translation compared to my quick google search. It was worded 'you know God (or the Christ) and the world doesn't know nor wants to know ? that was the subject matter. I've skimmed thru the 'Trinity' and this topic -- several others but I was not reading thoroughly and laptop history no help. Trying to locate that exact scripture on this site.

She knows I'm no Bible scholar and I told her from now on we only discuss makeup!

Recall Ray Franz indicated in COC they emulate the Catholic church's hierarchy but profess otherwise, of course. It's quite a pecking order and obvious in each congregation.

we seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.

they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?

) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

we seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.

they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?

) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

LongHairGal -- I start scrolling and if post is more than couple paragraphs, I keep truckin'. No hope for me re/aborbing the trinity issue if it's complicated. I do appreciate some topics re/JW views vs. mainstream xtianity and would hope it would help those questioning WT.

At least I found my magic formula for insomnia -- (I'm afraid to take script drugs and baby Benadryl not good for the memory, etc., lots of bad, of course) try to learn something about what trinitarians believe and why they think WT radically wrong on that.

I like the landline (great to locate my cell🤪) but keep ringers turned off to avoid all the marketing/political calls - enough of those on the cells. Not sure if my new cell can take on anymore 'blocked' calls. Landline was necessary for security gate and add'l security cos but not needed today. Amazing what landlines/fax costs are today -- think I'll doxx it all.

I know seniors who insist on keeping the landlines (afraid they'll miss call from their grandchildren) and I have some cool, sleek, modern, ones -- oh well.

I read some of one of the long posts by xyz/whatever (trinity issue) and it's the best knock out for sleep.

I enjoy reading biblical posts but certainly not Bible literate -- Baptist church I attended as child/pre-teen was more for social/charity works and brain-washing no dancing, smoking, drinking, non-marital relations -- it worked other than dancing jr high on or pre-teen Cotillion nonsense. Oh my!
