  Clarifying the Trinity Doctrine

  since there is so much confusion among ex-jw's, jw's, and christians in general about exactly what the trinity doctrine is, i decided to post this to clarify this teaching.. the historical trinity doctrine of the christian (protestant and catholic) churches has always been this:.

  * there is only one true god by nature.. * there are three distinct persons who share equally the nature of god.. * there are not three different gods (that is the false doctrine of tritheism or polytheism).. * there is not one person who is revealed three different ways (that is the false doctrine of modalism).. * however, each person of the trinity does have his own "role" or "function.

  " the son willingly obeys the father.

  Isn't clarifying the trinity doctrine an oxymoron. I would love to have someone read the 1956 watchtower September 1st paragraph 18 and see if you get the thought that the society here says that Jesus and actually all the spirit creatures were as God in nature, being children of God. They say that these were creations emanating from himself. What was the thought conveyed there?

  i realize that the info about the stroke of gb member jaracz did get out.

  but is it not amazing how any further info seems to be locked down.

  there are many with some connections, but there seems to be no info being allowed to get out about his condition.

  That is so right on the reality, even if/though you are having fun. How many experienced that scenario, I know I did. Only wish that could be happening to him.

  It's to help the poor and needy, not to hopefully make their stay in the community more acceptable to the community . . . . yea right. They probably use this community because of the ecomomic benefits, and feel that they might have to grease the wheels at city hall. Oh, why am I so dubious about the motives of the Society. I have NEVER heard of something like this. They always clean up the meeting places, but of course they are the main benefactors.

  in the sacramento bee yesterday was an article on this.

  not adept at posting links - but it's short so i'll post the sources quoted.. " rock star prince may be forced to choose between his faith and his health.

  so contends britains guardian newspaper, which reports that hip problems are affecting the purple one's mobility, and his religious beliefs are preventing surgery.

  My wife had a hip replaced and the consensus is that there should normaly be no need for blood. Prince is probably just a little weeny boy who is scared of the surgery. It is quite traumatic to think about, when one considers what is involved. He probably thinks he should be able to stand behind a large sheet and give the impression that his hips are good. Just like the sheet made him think the wierd guitar meant he had a large penis.

Most times with peoples concern about a person that is ill further info about there recovery would be welcome news. Anywho, might be just me.

  I don't know about you, but Trinity for me used to mean "two dudes and a bird."

  i stumbled on this as we do sometimes as we go from point to point searching out something in particular.

  in this case i was looking at proverbs 27:11 because of the way it was used/misused in the tower study covered by blondie and ended up reading this.

  Well, well, Reniaa bit, Rather than see the point being how different people percieve things and allow for thier right to make those assertions allowing us to see another way of thought, she went straight for the "Trinity DOCTRINE'. One of the big problems with the society is the notion that everything "they" say is gospel and anything others say is crap, thinking. The whole point of my post was to point out that we can look at other persons take on matters and with an open mind learn "something" from it. Reniaa is a perfect example of society thinking. "Everything" , no matter how complex that I/We say is right without the need for further examination. But what others say even if I don't really comprehend what they are saying has to be wrong somehow!! How often has the society admonished: if you find a point that is made in the literature difficult to understand, are you willing or prepared to leave it be for a period, I think they suggested maybe six months or so, and see if an answer comes for you. I realize now that it was another one of thier little tricky poos. You know, give it six months and you will likely forget all about it. Voila, no more conflict in your mind.

In this case I was looking at Proverbs 27:11 because of the way it was used/misused in the tower study covered by Blondie and ended up reading this. I am making no statement or point other than how different an expression/doctrine/thought can come out in different ones minds. I thought it quite interesting and it emphasized to me how problematic it can be when ones like Reniaa chant the singlular tower party line without a more expansive research.
