I think the inference on this thread is that since none died of spider bites, then there must have been spider antivenom, since surely those little buggers must have bitten one of them and if antivenom was remembered, surely birth control pills must have been also.

Jehovah does not expect us to be perfect in the absolute sense. He never expects more of us than we can do. (Jas. 3:2) Still, he does expect us to keep integrity. Is there a difference, then, between perfection and integrity? Yes. To illustrate: A young man loves a young woman whom he is going to marry. He would be foolish to expect her to be perfect. Yet, he would be wise to expect her to be wholehearted in her love for him, that is, to have romantic love for him alone. In a comparable way, Jehovah is "a God exacting exclusive devotion." (Ex. 20:5) He expects us, not to be perfect, but to love him wholeheartedly, giving worship to him alone. Jesus did say: "You must accordingly be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt. 5:48) He evidently understood that even imperfect humans can be complete, or perfect, in a relative sense. w08 12/15 1:6Jehovah doesn't expect us to be perfect but Jesus said we must be.

Some of so-called Christians in today's churches -- the ones that you might believe are receiving God's blessing despite the fact that they are on that "broad" road -- are being taught by church leaders that one can take moral liberties as long as they don't hurt anyone. So, then, if you were to ask a person, "Well, is fornication wrong?" or if it's adultery or homosexuality, "Are these things wrong?" they'll say, "Well, it depends upon the circumstances."
Even their church leaders have said fornication, adultery and homosexuality may not be wrong, saying, "Well, as long as you're not hurting anyone, then it's alright ..." Or, they might even add, "... as long as you really love the person, and if you should say this, then you really better mean it." Not among Jehovah's Witnesses are such things taught, because we are about the truth and we believe we have the truth and are teaching it to others.
I am not a supporter of any of these but they don't say this. You are misrepresenting and I feel it is on purpose. The only issue there is any basis of truth is the treatment of homosexuality. And they are not alone in showing compassion for these.

Not the butt of a prank. What you are asking is quite a challenge. Not only would someone have to attend and the vast majority don't/won't be, but allso not many would have the resources to do that. So here's hoping confliction is able or possibly something will become available. I know that last year a web source did show up, but the org. is discouraging that kind of dissemination more and more.

One of the problems, and it is not just faced by jw's, is to try to write "themed" articles based on belief structure and the bible. It is no easier or successful then the efforts of those who wrote that book to stay harmonious. So in this article one is given to believe the whole purpose of this door knocking is to save precious lives.

I know this is a bit off topic. But that comment sounds like my older brother's answer (he is an elder, in the truth like 50 years) when I said that one of the big issues I have is the notion that Jehovah will destroy 6 or 7 billion people soon. His reply was, he can do whatever he chooses to. He created them he can destroy them. And his wife simply said well look at what happened in Noah's day.
So none of our business and we should put our brains in nuetral.

Did the WT totally "luck out" with World War I starting in 1914?
by lepermessiah inmy family is still fixated on the 1914 date, simply because world war i started that year.. i told them i will agree it is a significant year in world history, but that the 1914 date as presented by jw's is based on lies and charlatanry.. i said "i think the wt really lucked out with 1914 with wwi starting that year - it keeps most jw's stuck on that date" .
the standard answer is "well, that was the year everything went haywire"...... let the circular reasoning continue .
