3 'But,' someone may ask, 'is it not harsh to expel and then refuse to talk with the expelled person?' Such a view surfaced in a recent court case involving a woman who was raised by parents who were Jehovah's Witnesses. Her parents had been disfellowshipped. She was not, but she voluntarily disassociated herself by writing a letter withdrawing from the congregation. Accordingly, the congregation was simply informed that she was no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She moved away, but years later she returned and found that local Witnesses would not converse with her. So she took the matter to court. What was the outcome, and how might this affect you? In order to understand the matter properly, let us see what the Bible says about the related subject of disfellowshipping.

another Hypocritical article?
by booby inreading a resurrected post from carla today took me to the following article.
especially with the attitude manifest toward the world and the worldly courts by the society is it not hypocrisy of the highest order to go to a court ruling to support the shunning policy.
especially since they know full well that the courts and law of the land separate the state and religion.. .

20 Hence, this important case determined that a disfellowshipped or disassociated person cannot recover damages from Jehovah's Witnesses in a court of law for being shunned. Since the congregation was responding to the perfect directions that all of us can read in God's Word and applying it, the person is feeling a loss brought on by his or her own actions. They make it sound like that last sentence reflects the opinion of the court.

discreetly located contribution box in the Kingdom Hall. discreetly located where they cannot be missed and often more than one so that special purposes can be addressed (like worldwide kingdom hall fund) and even had one in the homes where the book study was held before the change. at least monthly spiel about how the funds for the local hall were low in conjunction with the financial report. assemblies with dozens of boxes and regular updates as to where the funds stood, normally requiring a push for more.

never sure, even if a person doesn't like one of these overpaid overhyped types, how others can look at the success that they have achieved in their field of endeavour and say they have NO talent. Maybe saying "I don't like/enjoy what they do" but how with no talent can they achieve what they do, Anywho, just my thoughts.

Is the WTBTS mistaken or deceptive?
by exwhyzee inwhen i look back at history, i see the great lengths people have gone to, to prove their devotion to god and to carry out what they though to be his will.. do you think the watchtower organization is truly trying to deceive people and cover things up or do you think they are honestly misguided or mistaken in some of their beliefs and policies ?
if so, what purpose would they have for doing this?.

Stupid. And a bit deceptive sometimes.
