it's an article of faith.

either god is going to save them or he is not.

since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

This is so true. I believe it stems from the idea that the end is so near. They don't need any money in the new system so use it all now. This means in most cases being Materialistic with their money while bad mouthing worldly people for spending their money on the very same materialistic items.

A small update on the ongoing investigation by the Royal Commission

i think you people would like to know that since the public hearing has finished.

there has been ongoing contact made to me by the staff at the rc.

they have been inundated with calls and the same experiences or similar ones are being related.. the staff are not backwards in coming forwards with insights that they have shared.

Would it not make sense now that everyone take audio recordings of their shepherding calls and J hearings?

We had a shepherding call with a CO once where we were asked that very question, "Do you believe the GB is the faithful slave?" I wonder what response I would have got from the CO if I answered with the same words that Geoffrey Jackson answered at the RC for that same question.

Take personal recordings, even if it is only for a laugh later on.

What woke you up?

in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

so what woke me up?

an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

For me this happened around 15 years ago. It was the misleading information published in the WTs in the 80's and 90's about how wonderful they were to know about 1914 before that date. Then I read the pre 1930 wtbts books they told a completely different story about 1914. Silly me, at the time I raised this issue with another witness and was basically told to stay away from apostate literature.

You are right, you have to be careful. I've been on this site for 10 years now. Still go to meetings (to keep the piece ) as there is no honorable and easy way out. Welcome to this site. It doesn't matter were you are with your life's journey, you can always come here.

(my apologies if this was already discussed somewhere else.).

i noticed that the domain www.mt2414.com was taken, and when i tested it, it was a mirror of the log in portion of the www.jw.org site, where you can look up assemblies, kingdom halls, and make either one time or recurring donations.

so i created an account there (you can use fake form information as long as it's a real email address for email verification).

Odd thing is, first time I opened that domain it was in Russian, now every time it is in English.

Why even have resolution's? You know by the way the Elder reads out the
resolution as to which way you are expected to vote. Then they do the count, all those that raised there hands for "yes", all those that raised there hands for "no". Almost every time it will be 100% vs 0% result. You don't want to be seen going against the resolution trend and thus being judged by all those that saw you raise your hand against the congregation trend. Could he be one of those counterfeit brothers in the congregation that we have been warned about...?

Experiences Of Speaking To Another Awake Witness Without Knowing It

this is interesting, i would love to hear of some experiences.

i was speaking with someone offline about their talking to someone and coming to find out that person was waking up/awake too.

the reason i find it interesting, is because it is such a fragile situation, a dance where the two people don't trust each other enough to just speak freely like they are afraid of being turned into the kgb.

No I haven't. But then there are some in the congregation that make me wonder if they are awake, until they answer up some watchtower guided nonsense at the meeting, then I know that no, they are still fully in.

Even close friends of mine that have left the watchtower I would love to know if they are aware of the ttatt.
