How many different "rules" do Jehovah's Witnesses have to obey? Can you count them?

all the big changes for jws since this last fall brought me back to this site, and got me and the wife talking.

just how many things were we not allowed to do growing up as jehovah's witnesses?

we were so used to all the rules, customs, and traditions, that we became used to them.. one site i found claims there are 141 unique rules!!

a few weeks later, the witness that i speak, family and friends are very happy with the recent changes .. no one mentions the df aproach change, fieldservice report and free entrance to the paradise for non jw.. only the clothing style and beard are mentioned.. the sisters are all in a halaluja happy modes.

they are feeling being respected and heard by the lovely leadership.. one brother told me he will never grow a beard because he lost his elder status in the early 90's because of his beard.

now it's allowed i will not grow a beard he sweared.. it seems jw.org has down a great change job.

The DF change is regularly mentioned in the congregation here, it now means those DFed can sit with their friends during the meetings. "How loving these changes are toward those DF", I keep overhearing.

I guess if the congregation has DFed ones attending, then this updated change will be talked about more.

What can be worn at meeting and ministry now?

so what is appropriate now we don’t have to wear a suit and tie?.

i imagine just a smart shirt and smart casual trousers.

what about shoes?

Well, that's the end of us being judgimental toward the clothes that we saw church goers wearing into their meeting places, on a Sunday morning on our way to the KH.

Lost for words...surely all these changes will make some witnesses think what are we involved in here? Wait a minute, I forgot, independent thinking is still banned.

An april afternoon with Steven Lett in Amsterdam

in april, on a sunday afternoon the ajax soccer stadium in amsterdam will be filled with all dutch witnesses for a special visit of steven lett.. never done before in holland.

ofcourse it will be better then ever.

The very first announcement will be telling everyone not to post any recordings of his talk onto social media or you tube. If his talks are truth and Bible based, aren't we supposed to spread the message of Bible truth?

2024 when will Witnesses admit they are wrong???

1914 generation is long gone.

1975 was a joke 40 years ago.

i know of many witnesses still hanging on for armagedon but when will they give up?

Bro Lett at the recent special talk given from the Australasian branch mentioned the year 1975. I think it was in regards to keeping up with jehovahs organization and not holding on to old beliefs. Right at the beginning of this special talk we were told no audio recordings to be made, so I can't recall the fine details on why he used 1975.

Surely if this is true, it would be news worthy to go on the latest news section on jworg. It's certainly news worthy in our congregation to know which local brothers are now growing beards.

this is a sobering reminder of what happened some 40 years ago when raymond franz and others were literally kicked out from the jehovah's witnesses for having pre-arranged private spiritual discussions.lesson: paragraph 7 is another example of the i and t in dr. steven hassan's bite model of the 21st century cult - information and thought control at its best!!!!
