At our DA just recently there was a talk about “Spiritual Erosion”, this appears to be the new Watchtowers term for those that fade. The talk was about how bad it is to let yourself get in a state of Spiritual Erosion, or lose your spiritually. The talk even made the mention that if you needed medication to remain spiritually strong then you are to make sure you continue to take your medication. The conclusion of this talk was that those that let themselves fall into this Spiritual Erosion, are to be viewed in a very negative light.

by eyesthatsee inwhatever your chosen strategy for leaving jws, the fundamental truth is that there is no clean / simple exit.
the mind control, the manipulation of normal family relationships etc will make any strategy very difficult at times.
the key issue is to know this ahead of time and be prepared, as best you can.. we've all chosen leaving strategies acording to our personal circumstances, preferences and learning from others.

The Final Nail in the Coffin of your JW Career
by jookbeard ini know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.
but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.
it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!

The WTS and Frequent Liar Points

the wts has told so many lies to its members, the public and the media that if there were points accumulated for frequent lies then surely they would have a huge tally of them.. .

"Moving to where the need is greater" - Almost everytime a JW moves to another location you will hear that statement.
"Babylon the Great has fallen" - This apparently happened in 1918, but in what sense? We are told that it is because "She no longer has a hold on Jehovah's people". I still can not understand that explantion.
When some JW's see children running around after a (Babylon) church service they are viewed as being unruly and out of control, but when children run around in the same matter after a watchtower meeting they are viewed as being happy and joyfull. This one is more like a double standard.
diamondiiz mentioned the biggest one for me: "90% of what WTS tells us today about bible students pointing to 1914 as a marked year is a deception to what Russell really taught". I discovered this 10 years when I was 100% following the Watchtower teachings and studying all their books. To me an organisation that claims to represent the true God should not not be telling such untruths to their people. And then if you try to show any other JW this lie (that they still publish), you are then viewed as the deceptive one.

There is no way that I could now show those who heard his talk the facts about that chart without it being turned back on me, instantly they would view me as someone who is doubting those faithful words and that I should not believe everything that is on the net.

This "thehorizonproject" earthquake chart raised its ugly head again last weekend at our Public Talk. I couldn’t believe it!. The speaker had printed a copy of this chart and held it up for all to see the sudden increase of earthquakes since the year 2000. He used it as proof that we most be so close to the end. It’s a shame that even Elders don’t research what it is they are talking about.
Six months ago I received the "thehorizonproject" email from another Witness and I replied to him to take another look at the source data from http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/world/historical. It said that this source data is “Selected earthquakes of general historic interest”. So this so called proof chart is incorrectly generated from only a selection of earthquakes. I then went on direct him to this page from that same site: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learning/faq/?categoryID=6&faqID=110 where it says this: “Although it may seem that we are having more earthquakes, earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or greater have remained fairly constant throughout this century and, according to our records, have actually seemed to decrease in recent years”. His reply was positive; he admitted to not researching into it and then went on to say how the Faithful slave warns us about believing all information on the internet, etc.
I would love to show these facts to this Public speaker, but I think I would be viewed as one that is trying to find fault with the teaching, and then they would not listen or want to listen. Especially since this teaching serves the interests of the watchtower so well.
