we'll call this guy a super elder because he's on all sorts of committees in the area.

faith Abraham, when he was tested, as good as offered up Isaac—his only-begotten son" Does that mean to say that Abraham was not a loving father? -

i heard somewhere they did not use outside sources anymore to coordinate the airfares, etc..

From the above replys it would appear that different international conventions have been arranged differently. The only one ive been too held early last year was fully planned via w t Which you had to pay the wt for yourself. In fact we were told that NO private arrangements to attend was allowed due to numbers .

???Why you making up rubbish for? Well thats not how it happened last year....International Delegates had to pay the WTBTS $XXXX to get there, which included air travel, bus to and from conventions, lunches, and accom, which had been was all pre planned. Funny thing was that if these International Delegates planned and paid for their own way to the convention, they could have done it for about half the price the they paid to WTBTS

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

"This Generation" at the meeting today
by Batman89 init was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.
the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.
you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

This study was just a recycled WT study from the late 80's early 90's, only difference is they changed what didn't come true back then. Here are some interesting comments made at this weeks study I attended.
1: "Watchtower conducter told us this system only has a max of 20 years left based on the over lapping generation." Back in the 80's and 90's we were told that this system only has a few years left (unlightly to get to the year 2000) based on the generation teaching back then.
2: Comment from a long time witness, "When the big A comes, finally the GB will be proven that Jehovah has been using them all this time to direct his people"
3: And the 1914 lie: Part way down para 6, it says: "As soon as they discerned the fulfillment of Bible prophecy,(about 1914) they boldly declared to others that God’s rule had begun." Why is this a misleading lie? Because back then, no WT Publication taught this about 1914. this event had already happened back in 1874. It wasnt until the 1940's that WT publications started saying that 1914 was this date that Gods rule begun.
