  The smug arrogance of "having the truth".

  has anyone noticed that witnesses (from the top down) seem to have a quiet form of smug arrogance toward all non witnesses?.

  perhaps it comes from being told how "special and unique" they are but they end up looking down on all normal members of the community because they are not witnesses.. so any form of "love" they show those in the territory is also limited as long as they accept the message...otherwise they are viewed contemptuously as "worldly" and therefore of little value...after all,they will be destroyed right?.

  The only knowledge most JW's know about the world is what we get told at the meetings about the way the world is, thinks, etc. The power of having to believe everything we hear at the meetings gives (some) JW's the idea that they know more about non witness's (worldly people) than these non witness's know about themselves, and because witness's then believe they know more, they then take on this smug arrogance, and are very open about it in front of other people.   Do JWs ever doubt that the end is really coming?

  as a former dubber i had many occasions to doubt that the end was coming.

  i was told it was ok to doubt but not to think about it too much and wait on jehovah.

  that bull shit lasted until they changed the meaning of generation in 95 and that was the end of that bull shit for me.

  Our CO told us in one of his talks on his last visit that the end is going to come in our life time, and those that don't believe this, are basically listen to Satan's lies, or as he put it "Expressions of Error". So we are forced to believe the end is so near. Luke 21:8. No doubts allowed no matter how many times JW.org have cried wolf in the past.

  New Spiritually Weak Label: Not Using Tablet/iPhone

  with last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.

  damn it!!!

  am i alone in this resistance???!!!.

  No ipad or tablet yet for me. Sometimes will turn on my phone during the meeting to check the kh wifi speed or view the names of all the other devices that are currently connected to the kh wifi. Just to be noisy. Not everyone that has a gadget in our hall have it connected to the kh wifi but a very high percentage are online during meetings.

  yes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.

  i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.

  as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

  Yes, that was in this weeks WT. But used in reverse by jw.org. it was in reference to someone studying with a jw and then the family of that study not liking what was happening, so the family stopped associating with them.

  i remember hearing that the anointed that died would start ruling at the start of the thousand year reign.

  now it seems they are teaching that these deluded bozos that die get to rule right now in heaven.

  Another JW Literature Trolly Experience

  this morning i stopped at dollar general to get a cheap container for waste paper.

  it was 11:30 am and there were two jw literature trolleys parked near the store and manned by three jws, on old man in a rolling chair, a 30 something man, and 30 something woman.

  as i walked by them i glanced at the their literature rack and proceeded into the store.. i was in the store for 20 minutes and made my purchase.

  My copy of the RNWT Bible was made in Japan, Way better quality. Sounds like you need to ask for one that was made in Japan.
