If you never did, then you never were a real Witness. I thought it would! I thought it so much I planned events in my life with it in mind.

A question about supporting former Witness group???
by free2beme indo you feel, now that you are a former witness, that it is some how your moral or social obligation to support and defend all former witness groups, websites, books, magazines, organizations, and so on?
even if the activity is not something you agree with wholeheartedly, or even find acceptable.
turning a blind eye to things happening, as long as it is something that is supporting the former or anti-witness cause.

I agree! If someone really wants to break away, it does not mean trading one dedicated view of the Witnesses for another. What is sad to say though, and I have had my moments like this too, I tend to see a lot of people making to much out of the groups and organizations against the Watchtower. Putting to much time into support, when they should be putting more time into their personal healing and moving on.

I think like a lot of things in life, you have to support what means something to you. Otherwise, I see some former Witness groups as often to extreme for the most part with protest and such. Which does not match my thinking on life and so I often find myself speaking against them, and expressing my opinion in a way that may seem the complete oppisite to support. Which I have found if often met with a lot of bitter response in some situations. With the idea of, "well at least their doing something!"

Are birthdays now a "conscience matter" for JWs?
by Elsewhere ina few months ago my jw sister emailed me out of the blue asking for me to suggest a good telescope for her little girl (about 12, but i'm not sure).
my niece has had a strong interest in science since she was very little and my sister is trying to encourage her.
if you are wondering, yes, my sister and her jw husband do shun me... so basically she got the info she needed and then disappeared again.

Depends on your congregation. Although, if you did celebrate that evil day, you might not want to pass annoucements and invites in the Kingdom Hall.

Are you honest when you say your age?
by JH ini know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".
how about you, do you ever lie on your age?
-

Yes, but I am not honest in the age I act, for it is younger then my real age.
